auditeices. With the presenta-
tion of Miss Nina Dova, Wed-
nesday evening, November lith
at the • G,D.C.I. Auditorium,
they have succeeded.
It' is doubtful whether, they
• have ever had anyone with a
more sparkling personality and
stage ,presence than Nina Dove.
The audience, giving a cool re-
ception -at first to Miss Dove,
was soon 'ivarmed. up by her .
artistry and charming, witty in-
troductionto her seleplions. •
leffiss Dova's %Peke was a big
.surprise. Not small or lyric,
but rich and full, 'a voice cap-
tatiwee---Sh e had a very
eeegeerange, of just Deer two
octaves, producing her best
quality in the mezzo 'soprano
range.
The program was so diversi-
fied, it would take a small vol-
ume to review it all. She was
especially successful r en-
dition of Ng Spanish songs. •

The Women's Hospital Nux-
iliary met Monday at Alexandra
Marine and General Hoepital.
Using a .history and scrap-

Auxiliary in 1921 and its strug-
gles to raise Money' for the
enew" hospital which the board
wished to bufld on the Cameron
property (the present site).
There were 794 members enroll-
ed, including those from the
Town of ,Ciederich, the village
of—Dungannon; .Smith's Hill;
Lucknow, •Saltford and Code -
rich Township.
The 1921 executive committee .
included' a vice-president from
each church in town! Mrs. J. H.

year's Christmas, cards and told
of eonte.ets held by the 'Ontario
and Canadian Associations,' She
outlined the duties -of Auxiliary
members and told of ,the many
kinds of volunteer work done in
hospitals.
