dleton, R.R. 2, St. Marys, and

and Mrs. Norman MacKay of
Goderich 'l'he`grot,m's parents
are Mr. and ,Mrs. Wallace •Bar-
ton, R.R. 2, U'rhridge, Ontario.

by Burton Ready and Richard

The bride chose a floor -length
sheath styled gown of norganza
over taffeta w,v.th 'an overskirt
falling from the sides into a
sweeping cat+hc.cl.ral train. The
" bodice was fashioned with a
semi -scoop- neckline and lily-

French lace highlighted c the
skirt front. Her " fingertip
,quadruple -tiered veil of pure
'silk'•illu5ion was held,. by a nor-
ganza crown accented with Al-
endon lace ana she carried a
cascade of gardenia -s, stephan-
otis and English ivy. ,
MrS. Gerald, Pryke, Scarbor-
ough, was matronof honor and
•bridesm'aids were sisters of the
bride, Marcia .Middleton, Wood-
stock, and Jennifer Middleton,
• St. Marys. The, attendants wore
identical gowns of sapphire blue
peau de sale fashioned oh! Em-
pire 'lines. Their pillbox head-
pieces matched their dresses
and they' carried cascades of
white shasta mums and Eng-
lish
n;lis:h ivy.
Keith Barton, Uxbridge, was
his brother's .groomsman and
Bill Barton. Uxbridge, and Dan-
ny,,Midd'leton, Midland, brothers
of the groom and bride, respec-
tively, ushered.' Brian Middle-
ton lighted the tapers. '
A reception' was held at the
country • home of' the bride's
parents following which, dinner
was served at the St. Marys

Stratford Teachers' College and
the groom is a, graduate of Tor-
onto Teachers' `College.

days. While the wedding march
was played, Misses Gail Miller
and Laura Baer appeared in

for some time, the song, "Rock -a
bye baby" told about the ar-
rival of the Arthur family's first
born, s John. The singing of
Auld ,Lang Syne brbught this
entertaining part to' a close.

HENDERSON OPENS YEAR
AS 'RED WING REGULAR
When the Detroit Red Wing
open their 1964-65 season in
the Olympia tonight, both Larry -
Jeffrey and Paul -Henderson of
Gcideir:ch will be wearing Red
Wing spangles.
So far as anyone knows, it
will mark the first time two
local boys have betm, team-
mates together on a major
league hockey team for a full
year..
' A lied Wing release of Oc-
tober 6 indicated that Jeffrey
and Henderson are among. ,19
players to start the new cam
pai gn. Henderson will' be
among four new players in
Red Wing uniforms.
Before the season opened,
the Lucknow speedster Id. a
Signal -Star interview noted: "I
still have to make It." Appar-
ently, he has.
Jeffrey is' going into his third.
season as an NHL performer. ,
Red Wing Drumbeater Elliott
Trumbull, in his first release
of the season, indicated that De-

has selected 19 players to start

Last year "Henderson, who re-
sided in Goderich "this past
summer, ,,spent the first half of
the season with the -Red Wing
farm club, Pittsburgh. The last
half, he was with Detroit.
Last year Jeffrey established
himself as a solid regular in the
big time. In the Stanley Cup
playoffs arga'inxt the world cham-
pion Toronto Maple Leafs he
sdored a sudden -death game—
winning overtime goal
