held at Knox United Church
with Rev. William Carson as

Lord of the IXarvest." 'Rev.
Mr. Carson gave an inspiring

Wilbert George Johnston
Funeral services were held at
the Stiles funeral home on Oc-
tober lith for Wilbert JGeorge'
Johnston who •passed away at
Alexandra Hospital, Goderich,
on October 12th after an illness
of ten years, Born in Ashfielcc
Township, September 6, 1902,
he was the son of the' "laic
George Johnston and ,Isabella
1Ic\1'hinney, He was a membe.
of Nile United Church. Surviv
ing him is his wife, the_ former
Lillian Amelia Watson, also
one brother, Howard Johnston
Ashfield Town_ hip, and two sis-
ters, Mrs. Pearl Watson; Col
borne Township, and Mie Rus-
sel (Marian) Thompson, Clinton;
and a sister -in -lam Mrs. M.

Explorers
The Explorers held their first_
meeting at Knox Unitbbd Church
with 15. girls Present. The
Chief Counsellor, Mrs. Marrice
Bean, ,welcomed the new mem-

election of new officers. They

thy. In the worship service,

Joint Meeting
The A.Y.P.A. and the Young
People of Knox l,resbyterian
`.'hurch met at the home of Miss
royce Proctor. The_devotional
period ,was taken by the rector,
tev, Rohert Meally, assisted
by some of the members. Miss
Carole Brown had as her topic,
Hinduism. This was followed
by a discussion period. The
business meeting was in charge
of the president. Floyd Smith.

Proctor. Plans were .ji ade for

the home of Mr. and Mrs. For-
dyce Clark. Philip Clark will
be in charge of the topic. The

burn 4-H Club for the fall pro-

adian with freedom of speech,

dom of religion. She stated
that all , enjoy civil liberties
which means justice to all, re-
gardless of race, creed or social
