ASSESSMENT..
(Continuedfrom page 1)
elude the following: total Public
school ,supporters, VI,144,760;
and total Separate school sup' -
porters,* $474,850.
Seven -Year Growth
...The figures released by the
assessor's office over the period
of the past seven years belies
any suggestion that Goderich
is seriously threatened with a
downward economic trend.
While economic growth' here
during the paat seven years,
could hardly be called' bullish,
taxable assessment totals dur-
ing the period 1957-1063 clearly
indicate an upward trend. Tax-
able assessment figures for the
seven-year period '57-'63 are:
1957, $5,529,862; 1958, $5,898,-
204; 1959, $6,198,466; 1960,
$6,515,675; 1951,, $6,688,450;
1962, $7,024,400, and 1963,
$7,221,600.,
The .1962' G7oderich taxable
'assessment tota'l showed a 20
per cent jump over that of 1961.
During the period 1957-Q3,
the taxable assessment total for
the town showed a 20 per cent
increase.
The taxable assessment total
of $7,627,025, on which 1965
taxes 'are. to be based, includes
the I3ublic Utilities Commission
assessment. The figures above
for years included in:the per-
iod 1957-1963 does not include
the PUC assessment .6,W for
these years. , •
