Mr. Ed Talbgt to give the alarm of their

crow, some of them frozen to the boat, and
almost perished. They were taken to Mr.
Talbots, whore their clothing, which had
become frozen to the body, was removed
and everything done for their oomtort; after

crew consisted of captain Gex, four men
and one woman, and belonged to the two
masted sobooner, Goodall, of Port Huron.
The Goodall left Alpena, Mires.., lumber
laden, on Monday, Nov. 23rd, in tow of she
steam barge Oswego. On Monday night
during a heavy gale, ahe became detaohed
from the Oswego and drifted ashore near
Thunder bay where she began to break up,

of this week a number of Patrons of In-
dustry from Stephen held a meeting in the
school house north of Dashwood, to give
the farmers another chance to join if they

not to remove the market plane from its
present site, to the town hall as has been
proposed by some. Quite a number signed
the petition, then Mr. F. Willem read the
constitution of the order and the by-laws,
