seem to mind.
At The Hospital
At the hospital we trooped
around from room to rootn giv-
ing out the candies. And hee
in where I .saw Santa really
open up. It was a bit like the
way he treated the little ones
back at the police 'station.
Nobody seemed to mind
Santa coming in. The nursos,
all the time we were there, did
nothing else but giggle.
there'd be a sitriek an

Nobody asked what we were
doint;,,,/ or what permission we
had. We even had the even.
ing supervieor (who was too
old to giggle like a tenager,
and so didnee) show us around.
We heeded erst for the child-
ren's ward. Happily 111 report
there weren't very many child-

more infants, babies M inu-
bators and one -year-olds in
cribs 'perpetually cryitig, than
there were ,actualy children.
But the evenlng supervisor
tookus in to see one small gid.

"Qive us a kiss," giggled one
of the nurse.
"Can't. Ci.ot hair on the 1p,"
snapped Santa.
Then Santa gat chummy with
another patient, a man he's
known for years.

"I see your talk hasn't im-

One old lady in •a chair' by,

Santa, "You dont know m."
That ,was enough to pull
Santas attention to her room.
ii he bounded and declared*
Oh yes I do know you, *S-

"-Ohhh!" she cried. "Who
are you?"
Santa stood still to let her
peen, closely at him, and then
just .ba.tfore she could get to
thinking, Santa was off again
into the .next room..
