RCAF in 1940 and received his
pilots, wings in 1943.
Upon, discharge from the
RCAF in 1945 he attended the
University of Toronto and grad-
uated with a B.A. He also at-
tended the Ontario College of
Education and on graduation re-
enlisted in the RCAF in 1950.

Dunlop 4-11 Club
The second meeting of the
Tiger Dunlop Pals was held at
Carlow Hall on September p,
at 8 p.m. The meeting. was
epened by the president, Bar -
!Ara Linklater, with the repeat-
ing of the 4-11 pledge. Barbara
welcomed' the mothers to the
club. The minutes were read
by Kathleen Hirst. Mrs. Elmer
Hunter gave the members their
notes for the evening. Plans
for Achievement Day were dis-
cussed. Fifteen, members then
signed the registration sheet.
Anne Falkiner suggested that
milk and cake be the lunch at
the next meeting when the
home economist for Huron
County will be the guest speak-
er. Kathleen Hirst demonstrat-
ed vanilla milkshakes while
'Anne Falkiner and Patsy Buch-
anan demonstrated cocoa syrup
for chocelate ni1k. These were
sampled by the mothers. The
meeting closed with the re-
-
peating of the -4-H pledge.
OBITUARY
M. MARY EilZABETH

The death Occurred at the
General and Marine Hospital in
C011ingwoOd On Saturday of
Kr% aviary. Elizabeth Besse,
widow of the late Renben
Besse, both former residents of
Goderich. She was in her 82nd
year. The funeral service was
'held at Stayner on Monday
with interment in Stapler'
cemetery.
With her daughter, Helen,
also of Arallaceburg, Mrs.
Besse was living §t her summer
cottage at Collingwood and was
all packed and prepared to
move back to Wallaceburg on
Satufday morning. Taken sud-
denly ill, she was removed to
hospital at Collingwood , and
died later that day.
Mrs. Besse came to Goderich
with her husband in 1947 when,
the latter purchased the Baxter
Dairy off West street, now the
Andrew Dairy. She left Gode-
rich in 1953 when her husband
purchased a dairy at Wallace -
burg. A sonriroward, died at

A lifelong resident of Gode-
rich, George Wesley Randall,
52, died on Thursday of last
week, in Alexandra Hospital
where he had been a patient for
several months. He was a son
of the late Thomas and Eliza-
beth Ann Riddols Randall:
, Surviving are two brothers,
Verdun of Godericb; John of
Collingwood; two sisters, Mrs.
Nicholas (Edna) Sager and Mrs.
Leonard (Stella) Overholt, both
of Goderich.
The funeral service was held
at the Lodge funeral home on
Saturday afternoon. The °pall-
bearers were George and Don-
ald Sager, Gordon Bradshaw,
/Gordon Overholt, Lewis Ell-
wood, and Robert Mohring. In-
terment was iq Maitland ceme-
tery.

Many Rotarians away on
their home clubs

is the only one in quite a wide
area. On Tuesday, President
Harry Sturdy welcomed Trey.
Chapman, Carl Dettinger and
Morris Nichols, all of London,
and Ken Graham of the Pres-
ton-Hespeler Club, who has a
cottage. at Port Albert, also C.
M. Robertson, Goderich.
If was indicated that a num-
ber of members will attend an
extension seminar at Sarnia on
October 2,
Speaker at the luncheon was
W. E. Elliott, who presented a
number of gems of the spoken
and written word which for one
reason or another impressed
him in course of a long news-
paper career. He was intro-
dueed by Roy Breckenridge and
thanked by JackHinton.
