Messrs Gee, Fltegerald, Hugh Grieve, T. W. Duncan and James Weir of Seaforth, left on Monday for Muskoka one deer hunting expedition. Seaforthhas purchased a hook and :ladder truck. ,It has attached to it an eXtension ladder 40 feet high, besides a full set of other laddera, and is one of the best equipages of the !rind In the country, Its prune, is X475 and the hose cart $170. Information was recently laid by the Officers of the Salvation Artny, Clinton, against a youth named Cassels, on a charge of disturbing the services. Win, Rivers a farmer residing in the township of West Oxford, was instant- ly killed on Wednesday last while en- gaged in undermining a large stone that cropped up, preparatory to sink- ing it below the surface. While at work the rock, weighing several tons, and measuring six by Tour feet fell in upon Mr. Rtvers. Hts son immediately obtained assistance from the neighbors and after two hours hard work the lifeless body of Mr. Rivers was releas- ed. Wm. Brown a well-known resident of East Zorra, met with a sad and serious accident on Wednesday even- ing, as a result of which both of his legs were broken in a shocking man- ner, the fractured hones protruding through the akin. He was engaged with other neighbors, in assisting Mr. Francis Malcolm to fill a silo, when by some means he became entangled in the belting and was drawn up against the•outting machine. His condition is very serious. The final race of the series for the Stratford Bicycle Club gold medals was finished on Tuesday, resulting in a tie for the trophies. In thts partic- ular race, T. McCarthy won in 38.45 with Dr. W. N. Robertson second in 35.30 and Ed. Litt third in 41.31. Mc Farlane made the distance in 37.29, and J. Pequegnat 44.31e. This leaves Dr. Robertson, T. McCarthy and Ed Litt tie for first place, each having 13 points to their credit. The race will be finished in about two weeks. Mr. M. Egan, St, Marys. G. T. R. engineer, and Miss Maggie Phalen, Nissouri were married the other morning atSt.Peter's Cathedral London by the Rev. Father Tiernan.
