.Plans were, made for the sale !
of tickets for a cash prize, and
other "Ways and Means" were
discussed. A telephone com-
mittee was set up to help keep
the members informed of com-1
isng events, The Sports Cap-
tain noted that the Ladies' Tues -1
day nights had now started and
asked that members make a
note of the date on which thQ,
were to be in charge.
The Maitland Trophy will be
played Or in June, and all paid-
up members are eligible to en- i
ter this competition. The Mait-
land Country Culb is affiliated
with the C.L.G.U, (Canadian,
Ladies' Golf Unionr and an
established handicap is a pre- ,
requisite before -a member may !
enter a tosrnament with any
other C.L.G.IYA:' club. ji was
noted that a number of the
ladies do not have handicaps
estab•lished. It was requested
that 18 hole'score cards be turn-
ed in as soon as possible. -
After a general dise.ussion on
matters pertaining- to the Lad-
ies' Section,. ,the meeting.. was
--brought 'to a close—
Official Opening
Ori May 25th, the Ladies' Golf
Section of the 'Maitland Coursry
Club held its official opening
for the season. Perfect golfing
weather prevailed and 26 mem-
bers vied for honors under a
--cloudless sky.
The low gross prize was won
by Jean Papernick while Ev
Wilkinson took the. low net
prize. Patty Evans was the
winner in •the Junior Division.
The hidden hole was won by
Marg Hinton. A stunning door
prize was. _taken home by
Evelyn Patterson. _
rs. 'Rush piovided a tempt-
ing salad buffet supper, attrac-
tively served in the sun-roorn,
bringing a very enjjoyable day
to a close.
What is needed naw is a
coach and Manager for both
teams. This means four men.

the second annual Brussels
night tO be held at London's
Western Fair Raceway: Race-
way officials are inviting the
race fans from Brussels and
area to be their guests for this
event. You will find a coupon

is good for one free admission
that evening.
Patrons for this special even -

Pace, an early closing event for

half of first place. Both Wood -
Stock and Goderich now have

Knox 'United Church was held
Sunday with large congrega-
tions at both services. Guest
speaker waS Rev. R. S. Hiltz of
Exeter, a former minister of
the Auburn Charge. The ser-
vice of song was under the dir-
ection of the church organist,
Mrs. Norman Wightinan. Solo-
ist was Elliott Lapp.
