Plant here, which forms the major part of
a two million dollar modernizing program
presently. under way. The general contract
for/ bhstruction has not as yet been let, but
the general deadline 'for completion is ex-
pected to be late,fall of 1963 or'early next
year. At present steel is being erected with-
-"tire aid of the huge 150 -foot boom. Work
is also under way on installation of alum-
inum bins, Plant Superintendent J. V.

The March meeting of the the guest speaker, Mr. J. W.
Arthur Circle of Ktuox Presby-
terian Church was held in the,
church. parlor on Monday even-
ing,
vening, with the president, Helen
McManus, presiding.
-The meeting was conducted
by Catherine Jerry. Jean Clem-
ents read the Scripture and
prayer ,was offered by 1Viarion
Moore.
A minute of silent prayer was
observed in memory of Una
Macdonald, a member of the
Circle whose passing last week
saddened all. members. Mrs.
McManus announced that Una's
name is being placed on the
Memoriam sheet in the Remem-
brance Boole being prepared for
the W.1V;S. centennial.
The minutes of the February
meeting were read by the secre-
tary, Betty Coulter. In the ab-
sence of the treasurer, hazel
McCreath,- the treasurer's' re-
port was read by Helen Mc-
Manus, and it was decided that
the treasurer be authorized to
send the money on hand to the
Presbyterial. It was also de-
cided to donate .$15.00 to the
nursery for the purchase of
needed equipment. "Thank
you" notes were read. from Jean
Carruthers, Donna "Crawford
and Mrs. Orman'dy.
Ann Leitch reported for the
ways and means committee on
projects which the group might
undertake to raise funds..

Eleven tables of euchre were
engaged in play at the- Pai•i-h
Hall on Saturday night as a
St. Patrick's feature sponsored
by St.. Paul's Anglican Guild.
Prize winners were: ladies'
high, Mrs. Bill Wiggins and
Lynda Young, winner in a tie
with Mrs. Lorne Ivers; men's
Coulter, Public School Inspec-
tor, 'who- spoke on the theme
"Religious Edcati'on ‘ in the
Public School." A question- and
answer period was held and the
mothers present availed them-
selves of this opportunity. Mr.
Coulter was thanked for his
talk by Mae Schaefer. '
Lunch was served by Evelyn
Sandy and her committee and
a social hpt&r was enjoyed.

a million 'and a -quarter more
pounds of fish in the 1961 sea-
son than in the preceding year,
according to a summary just
released by the Ontario Depart-
ment of Lands and Forests.
In 1960 the yield was 3,488,-
637 pounds, as compared with
4,758,777 to give an increase of
1,270,140 for the year. . D.
