riers were able' 'to complete
their rounds out of Goderich
post office Monday,. and service
had not returned to normal -by
mid -week. Harvey Johnston
got only as far as Port Albert
on Monday, and there he' was
advised by a Mr. Walton to get

latter boasted he was going on
to Kincardine. A few . minutes
later Mr. „Walton was stuck
firmly in the snow. Rural car-
rier' Frank Glenn was unable
to complete his trip - to Dun
gannori ori'' Monday.
Banks High
More snow Tuesday, added to
the difficulties. Banks of snow,
already as high as eight to ten
feet on the southwest side of
Highway Nb. 8 encroached on
the travelled portion of the
road and forced Department of
Highways plows to clear the
shoulder at many points in
order to provide passing- room.
Numerous Accidents .
Numerous accidents, mostly
attributed to the storm condi-
tions and largely accounted for
by bad visibility because of
ground drift, have been in-
vestigated by Goderich;, detach-
ment, O.P.P. in the past several
days. - -
No serious injuries have been
reported, but the damage 'figure
continues to rise with sideswip
Ings, rear -end collisions and
cars leaving the highway after

An instance of this was a

backing out onto the Baseline
and was in collision with a -
vehicle' driven by Menno Mar-
tin of R.R. 1, Clinton. Damage
,was light. Constable Ross

NO.-- 8 caused an.. accident near
Sturdy's Corners Monday when

ton, who was proceeding east,
pulled too far to- the right when
meeting 'a car. The front end
was snagged in a drift, swing-
ing the rear around into the
path of the oncoming car,
driven by Leslie Turner of
Clinton. Only "minor damage
was caused.
On' Sunday evening Harold.
M.acPhee df Goderich got his
vehicle stuck in snow about
five miles south „of-- here -'--'on
Highway No. 21, ..and in" poor
visibility was struck from "the
rear by soar driven by Joseph
