talk at the conclusion of busi-
ness.

No contentious iss il`l's were
debated during the final session,
and a number of items were de-
ferred for action by the 1963
council.
Among items dealt With was
an application for permission to
erect a sign at Jerry's Appli-
ances on Hamilton street. The
usual bond of indemnity was
provided and permission will
be granted by, the pu6lic works
committee.
A letter from Howard Aitken,
secretary of . Goderich Industrial
Commission was read and de
ferred for' action to 1963. It
pointed out a number of steps
that .might be taken in connec-
tion with industrial areas in the
toy- n's zoning plan, and refer-
red to a recent survey on which
the recommendations were

i ers, local insurance agent re-
gardipg protection of town
buildings was dealt with in com-
mittee of the whole, where' it
was discussed for some time.

Reappoint Dr. Hughes
Dr. R, W. Hughes, council's
representative to Goderich Dis-
trict Collegiate Institute, whose
term was to expire at the end
of this month, was reappointed
by bylaw to another three-year
term.

passed on for a 25 -foot width,

Colborne Township Council
finalized the business of the°
Township for the year 1962
with their final -two meetings
of the year heId on December
4` and December 15.
Presented for attention were
two engineer's completion cer-
tificates on the Bisset Hill Mun-
icipal Drain and the Bean Mun-
icipal Drain respectively. The
clerk was authorized to apply
for the drainage subsidy • on
each drain as well as complete
the financial settlement of all
the accounts involved.

that many representations had.
been made to the local council
to provide public access to beach
areas and it was council's opin-
ion that park facilities provided
