Over 800 fans watched as the red and white squad came storming .out in the first per- iod and hardly allowed the Siskins to get out of their own end. The second period was a bit raggedbut still pleasing to wat- ch as the teams took turns applying the pressure. In the third period Water- loo seemed to get their legs aand..theyine&ly._ whittled at,T3 at the Goderich lead. Water- loo banged away with every- thing they had and with only one and a half minutes of time remaining they finally got the equalizer. At' the end of reg- ulation time it was all Water- ./ loo and Goderich was lucky to come out even. -After only a few minutes of overtime Hank Armstrong scot' - ed what proved to be the win- ner even though there were anany chances on both sides after his tally. Admstrong's goal was a line effort. On the night's play. Sinclair, Leduc and Armstrong would have to be chosen as stars. Sin- clair kept the locals in the game time after time when . the Sis- kins had some excellent opp- ortunities. Bob Leduc played a real strong game. Re played defense and forward and this in spite of the fact that he Was playing with a painful an- kle. - Goal scorers were Thompson two, Bowness two and Arthur a singleton. SECOND WIN Graham Sinclair, still hot -from Friday night's game came up ,with a, brilliant performance .in Kitcheer__ Sunday afternoon and kicked ' aside 46 shots as the Siftos downed Kitchener 4-2. Awed by the big ice surface, Goderich found themselves be - V hind 2-0 before they got their bearings. Mrs. Will Caesar, on Sunday, visited her son Donald who is recovering from an operation at Victoria Hospital, London. Mr. Tom Koviak and son 'Tota Jr. of Detroit were home for the weekend. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Henderson (Eleanor Alton) who were married lar Saturday. A successful bazaar was held on Wednesday of last week at the United Church. A "varied lot of articles, including baking .and sewing, were sold. More than $200 was realized. Monoxide" Kills Two Carbon -monoxide poisoning claimed the lives of two teen- agers in a ,parked car on con- cession 16 near $lyth Sunday night. They were identified As Stientje Hibma, 14 of London, Ontario, and Egbert Kolkman, 17, of R.R. 1, Clinton. An autopsy has established that the couple died as the re- sult of carbon monoxide poison- ing which seeped into the car as it stood parked by the side of the road with the motor run- ning, according to Dr. F. G. Thompson, coroner of Clinton. The tragedy was investigated by Cpl. R. F. Keene of Goderich and Constable J. Parkinson, Wingham O.P.P The two had been visiting at the home of Miss Hibma's sister near Blyth and had gone out for a drive about 9 p.m. Sunday. A search was organized_ when they, had not returned by 2 a.m. and the car was found by a farmer about seven hours later. 'A double funeral service was conducted yesterday by Re‘. L. Slofstra and Rev. Gerard Souma of the First Christian Reformed Church-, London, at the Christian Reformed Church, Clinteti. DR. FINLAYSON DEAD A native of Ashfield, Dr. 'D. K. Finlaysony ' 70, of Lucknow died in a: Toronto hospital Tuesday. He practised medicine' in Ripley for, many years.
