"I'm far too busy to help at

it really means, "I'm too deeply
involved with the things of the with to be bothered the
affairs rather unsensational airs of

when you study mankind you
find thatderive people a much

cieties, associations, and so on, Why? the Church. Can
we arrive at a ready answer? from we drifted so far the
essential basis of the Christian
Faith that the crucifixion, resur•
rection and ongoing Presence
s
of the Lord Jesus Christ has no
pertinent meaning for us? This
may. be just what we are look-
ing fdr in an answer. We have
Christian-

the Christ in and all that 'is left is the
tail -end of the word. Dare we
assert with confidence that M
there is little of the aster in
t
Christendom? Can i be, as
d
many a theologian an serious
thinker .has held, that respect-
ability is slowly, but surely, kill-
ing the Church, snuffing out the
true meaning, clouding the main
issue? If all this distressing
fact is true, then, we have
missed first base by a mile.
Pray ., devoutly and await His
answer. He will 'speak to you
out of the bounty»,of His mercy
in no• uncertain to ms. He will
command—you will obey --and.
become an integral -part of the
Evangel unto all men. Refusal
means parti4l participation —
and that just is not ,good
enough—for it means that you
recognize in 'serving Christ
Jesus you are beyond your
depth. •
You can become involved-
don't say you can't --you can—
personally. It means putting
your faith to work. It• means
standing for things that others
might laugh at. It means speak -
Ing a word when others are in
the bonds of silence. It means
helping the down -and -outer
when society shies away from
the dirt on his boots. It means
being a brother to someone
who hates you. It means pray-

• How can we escape from 'this
mess? In fact, in the Epistle to
the Hebrews, we - read,' " "How
shall we escape, if we neglect
so great salvation; which.at the
first began to be spoken by the
Lord, and was confirmed unto
us by them that heard • him."
(2:3) Does it notes. finally turn
upon our 'relationship to the
Lord Jesus Christ? Did He not
invite us to come unto Him?
Do we come wholeheartedly,
completely, • surrendering the
sovereignty of our lives into
His hands? Does not the im-
mensity of , one's sins humble
us before -the bloody Cross?
Are voices not raised against
the worldliness of the Church
declaring that we have moved
off centre into the limbo of
human, purely human, thought?
A total lack of discipline is not-

strong desire to soothe people,
rather than disturb them.
In everything we must° turn
to Christ Jesus. We must re-
examine the tenets of our faith.
Christ called us to be His.
How can I become personally
involved in the whole territory
of His mission? Come to Christ
—that is the answer! Not' par-
tially—not with reservations—
not in, pride! Lay your 'prob-
lems, large and small, at His
feet and know that He is Lord.
Enter into' the -mystery of Cal-

for y.ou. Stand ' by the open
grave and be convinced that the
resurrection was endured for
you, Realize that sin and death
were overcome on your behalf
