ity. Mrs. Orval McPhee gave

Church she attended when a
girl which was a very high
church. Mrs. Robert, J. Phil-
lips Played a piano solo. Mrs.
Haggitt, on behalf of the hos-
tess, thanked all who had taken
part in the program. Mrs.
George., Schneider, the president,
presided for the business per-
ied and the minutes were .ap-
proved as read by the secretary,
Mrs. John Daer. The treasurer,
Mrs. Gordon R. Taylor, gave the

appeared before him in court
here last Thursday and pleaded
guilty to driving a motor ve-
hicle carelessly in Colborne
Township on July 8.
Koert Stryker, R.R. 2, Blyth,
was fined $100 and costs, or 14
i days, and his driver's licence
was suspended for a further six
months, when he pleaded guilty
to driving a motor vehicle in
-Goderich on iJuly 28, while his
licence was under suspension.
Daniel Morgan, RCAF Station,
Clinton, was sentenced to • tw•o
days in. jail when he pleaded
guilty to causing a disturbance,
by fighting in Goderich Town-
ship on August 11.

members and their families, in-

}r. ARS. JOHN. SPAIN
Requiem high mass was sung.
at St. 'Peter's Church, on Wed-
nesday morning, for Mrs. Violet
Grace Spain, 59, who died sud-
denly at her East street home
on Sunday. • Rev. Fr. Raymond
Moynahan officiated at the ser-
vice, and the Stiles funeral
home was in charge of arrange-
ments. Interment was in Col -
borne Roman Catholic ceme-
tery.
A daughter of the late George
and Maude Lydia Potter Huller,
Mrs. Spain was born at Holrhes-
t ille and .attended -school there.
In 1922 she married John Spain
who passed away in 1961. She
had lived most of her life in
Goderich. r
. Surviving are eight daugh-
ters, Mrs. Maurice (Mona) Poir-
ier, Goderich;. Mrs. J. W. (Mur-
iel) Rlmody, Riverside; M-rs. Wil
liam (Daisy) McCann, Mrs. -Don
(Helen) Wilson, Mrs. Lavern
(Aileen) Linton, Mrs. Jack (Mar-
lene) Ashton, Mrs. Dan (Marilyn)
