gun failing to discharge, he pointed the

have time and again called, the attention
of'the council to this stretoh of walk, but
it still remains unrepaired. A vit for
damages will yet be the outcome this
neglect.
The harvest season is well underway.
The hay crop has been gathered in good
condition, the "yield being far heavier than
expected. Hay will average about a ton
per acre. Fall wheat is now being gener-
ally cut, and if the weather be steady, one
of the beat crops harvested in this section
for many years will be well saved. Spring
grains are doing nicely and give promise
of an abundant yield. .
Mr. Will J. White, of the Brandon,
Man, "Sun" is representing the Canadian
Northwest at the National Enitorial Con-
vention in St Paul this week, Bro White
is specially missioned by the- Winnipeg
Board of Trade, to agitate the holding of
the next National Editorial Convention at
Winnipeg. We hope Bro. White will be
