Bradnoclt, DUNGANNON. --- Dungannon Agricultural Hall; was filled to capacity last Friday evening when oiret 150 pupils from schools in the southern part of Ashfield Township presented their annual concert. This is the first time it was given 'in Dungannon. Formerly, all the } schools in the Township went to Lucknow and hte attendance of parents and friends was very small. The schools presenting, the concert with their teachers were: No. 6, Miss D. Doupe; Port Albert, Mrs, Bert Craw- ford; Dungannon senior room, Mrs. Ron Jewett; Dungannon junior • orom, Mrs. Marvin dur- nin. Chairman for the program was Eldon Culbert, chairman of the School, Area Trustee Board. Legion, ,, , attended church services Sunda morn- ing at Knox Presbyterian and St. Peter's churches. • j Under the convenership of lst vice-president Mrs. ,Leona Sherratt, the adherents of St. Peter's met' in' a body at the church fer the commemorative service while the Ktrox Church group attended morning service under the direction of president Mrs. Ralph Kingswell. Dressed in official berets and .blazier uniforms, ' the ladies at Knox Presbyterian were led by standard bearers Mr's. ,Rose Hill and Mrs. Edna 4 Doak. Other officers of the Auxiliary present included immediate past presi- dent Mrs. Margaret, Young- and 2nd vice-president Mrs. Mamie Sutcliffe. The ladies of the Auxiliary do not follow the usual custom .of parading to- chu'rch,- preferring to meet at the church of their choice and attend the service in a group. Albert school, "The. Shepherd'a The highlight ofthe evening's program was the Mexican oper- etta in costume given by .the junior Pupils of the Dungapno i school. A boys' chorus from iVo."'6i sang, "Away for Rio" and the Port Albert school sang "The GYPSY SQ l'y,`.' and "Bless This Douse." K. All the pupils sang the closing song, "Canada For- eher.": VICTORIA ST. WOMEN MEET The June meeting of the 'Un- ited Church Women of Victoria Street United Church was held in the church basement Monday evening. Mrs. S. Argyle, pre- sident, opened the meeting and Mrs. H. Lrader led the worship 'service.. .Her theme was 'Ito I am with you always." Mrs. Vincent gave the high- lights of the regiona 'meeting of the western section of Huron ,County, which took place at Blake Church. Thirteen mem bers from Victoria Street Church attended, .•-° The roll call wasanswered by the leaders of each Ait 'toll flip what• her group had done in the past mpnth. Dobbs, was discussed. Miss E. Bamford told of the different divisions outside and 'in the Sunda/"School. Mrs. A. Lin- field gave detailed explanati'ons�,µ of the instructions given to each roup. Mrs. O. Culbert, secre- tary of the Sunday School, gave a report on the supplies needed, and number of officers and teachers required to run the Sunday School. _ Mrs. G. Feagan talked on Mis- sionary • and Christian education going hand in hand. This, she said, was accomplished by pub- lic health films, hospitals, . dif- ferent kinds of shelters and in- stitutions, through doctors, sq- ial - workers, deaconesses and teachers, Mrs. S.
