Water Tower
Face Lifted
Almost as thrilling as a cir-
cus high.wire act is the prese,nt
painting of the town's- water
tower at the corner of St. David
and Albert streets. At heights
up to 150 feet, workmen are
treading' catwalks and -beams as
they .brush the expansive sur-
faceof the tower with bright
"patina green" enamel.
Contractor in charge of the
refurbishing is A. Beauclair, of
London, with from four to six
workmen engaged in the work.
Started last Wednesday the job
involved sandblasting, to re-
move scale, priming and the
final, finishing coat: Over forty
gallons of enamel will be re-
quired to finish the -tower
which was emptied of water to
avoid sweating during the
painting.
