Reeve James Bisset and Gotta-

ott ,-chlor C. 14I, Robertsen—at the
final session for 1911, oxi Friday:
evening
At the ncdnclusion of the ,seat
cion; Mayor E. C. Fisher re.
marked, -"This Council has been.
the best. -of •any since I've been
here."
'Ta4744is ends a busy year in
we have, lost two goad
men m Deputy -Reeve Bisset and
Councillor Robertson," said
Mayor Fisher. "Ji Bisset has
done an excellent jot as chair-
man of the public works coxn-
«mitte and I'll sure miss not
having Councillor Robertson in
that chair."
Hep y e'eve—Stsse
the Mayor for the "kind re-
mark&' and also expressed
thanks for the co-operation
given him during the year by
his committee. Referring to'
the future, Deputy -Reeve Bisset
warned that Council will soon
have to do something about a
sewage system, at least an in-
tercepting storm sewer to serve
the west end.
"This is another bend in the
road of life," said Councillor
Robertson. "I don't expect I'll
ever be back on Town Council
again. My association with the
Town Council over the years
has been very pleasant. My
first year was , in 1919 and, it
was the roughest and wildest
year I've ever put in. Council-
lors then didn't mince any
words. I got enough of it in
that year and quit. But I was
back in Council again in 1922.
I was never a politician and in
the past I've said things which
JA ES BI$SET
affected me but i've always said
frankly what I thought.
"Tonight when - I have to
sever my connections it makes
me feel that I am missing some-
thing. But I'll always be inter-
ested in the Town of Goderich.
"The debenture debt of the
Town of Goderich is too high
I have atways said, and I still
say so. It is about $1,000,000.
But during the past year I
couldn't see how we could have
done anything different than
what we did in setting the tax
rate. I only hope that next
year the tax rate will be held
to the same line."
Councillor Robertson present,
ed a gift to each member ,,of
Council as his parting gesture.
One doesn't need a garage
for those little foreign cars—
just the box they came in.

On that night many years ago, as white stars glittered and
angels' voices rang out triumphantly to proclaim his coming,
there was born unto mankind, a Saviour. Humble shepherds,
gathered in the fields tending their flocks, heard the message
and came in haste to visit the babe lying in a mangers and they -
were
led with joy.
