Hong Kong, has been adopted
by The thous Club of Goderich.
This announcement was made
by Phil Carey at the Lions Fam-
ly Night party.
Yiu Tong has been adopted
uhder the Foster Parents' Pian.
Numerous other improverished
children in Hong Kong have
been similarly adopted by ser
vice club organizations through.-

Tong, the Goderich Lions Club
is obligated to, pay $180 a year
for his keep.

Yiu Tong lives with his par-
ents, two sisters and two bro-
thers, all the children being
under 13 years of age The
family occupies a cubicle, mea-
suring seven feet by eight feet
which is dark, dacnp_,and poorly
ventilated. There is no window
in the room. Rent and water
come to $2.20 monthly,, a sum
they simply cannot" afford from
their meag,er sources. Their
whole environ ria is inescri
ably unhealthy ` and unwhole-
some.
The father, a .,carpenter, is
ren. He says that when he
grows up he would like to be
an architect. The boy has had
a briiliantrecor'd -as a scholar.

Rebekahs Hold,
Yuletide -Party
The Past Noble Grands Club
of the Goderich Rebekah Lodge
held their regular meeting and
Christmas party 'at the home gf
Mrs Harold Rivers on Tuesday
of last week.
Mrs. Harold McPhee ,the pre-
sident; conducted the business
portion Aa the meeting at which
time Mrs. Ruth Hayden was
welcomed into the club. The
shut-in members are to be re-
membered with, flowers , at
Christmas. An exchange pf
gifts took place a.d several
games of "500" were played
with prizes going to Mrs. J.
Newcombe and Mrs. F. Fritzley.
Lunch was served by Mrs. N.
Harnack, Mrs. H. Fuller, Mrs.
F. Fritzley, Mrs. A. Abell and
