to be held on Sunday, Decem-
ber 17, at 8 p.m. in Knox Pres-
byterian Church.
Mrs. R. A. Durston
Word was received here last
week -end of the death of Mrs.
R. A. Durston, of Dauphin,
Manitoba. She was born in
Ashfield Township, the daugh-
ter of the late Mr.. and Mrs.
Tom Johnston, and was ' the
sister of the late Mrs. Charles
Beadle. ,She visited here about
28 years ago but was visited
last year by her nephew,
Charles Beadle, of London. Be-
sides her husband she is sur-
vived by one son, Millard; one
daughter, Mrs. Faye Clyde,
beth of tiattp1in 0041 grand-
children; one nice, ' Mrs. Earl
Allison, Goderich; two nephews.

Harry Beadle, of Auburn.

Mrs. William J. Craig as the
members assembled' in the
Sunday school auditorium for
the Christmas meeting of the
Woman's Missionary Society of
Knox Unit& Church. Mrs.
Fred Toll was in charge of the
Christmas program and opened
with the story, "It is Christmas
Night." The hymn, "Brightest
and best are the 'hons of the
morning," was sung and medit-
ation was taken by Mrs. Fred
Toll, Mrs. Elliott Lapp and Mrs.
John Durnin. They represent-
ed the Wise Men around the
Nativity scene. The Christmas
•story was read as recorded in
the second chapter of the Gos-
pel of St. Matthew. A duet
was sung by Mrs. George Mil-
lion and Mrs. Gordon 1V1cClin-
chey, "Peace and' Goodwill."

timely skit on Christian citizen-
ship, entitled "Citizenship that
counts," prepared by Mrs. Wil-
liam T. Robison, was presented
oy Mrs. Norman McDowell, Mrs.
Robison. Mrs. William J. Craig
played softly, "Take time to be

received by Mrs. Harold Web-
ster and Mrs. Guy Cunningham.
Mrs. Toll thanked all who had
assisted her with the program
and closed with prayer. The
president, Mrs. John Durnin
presided for the business ses-
sion. The minutes of the pre-
vious meeting were read by
the secretary, Mrs. Roy, Eason',
who also .called the roll which
was answered by a verse of
Scripture containing the word,
"manger." The treasurer, Mrs.
Harold Webster, gave the fin-
ancial statement stating that
the allocation had been over
subscribed. Mrs. James Jack-
son and Mrs. Norman McDowell
were chosen to look after the
packing of the Christmas boxes
for the sick and shut-ins. Any
donations for these boxes will
be gratefully accepted. Mrs.
Durnin thanked her executive
and all the members who had
so willingly helped to make the
pat year a very interesting and
successful one. After singing
"0 little town of Bethlehem,"
the last meeting of the Knox

Following the Sunday even-
ing' service in St. Mark's An-
glican Church a short program
was presented by some of the
pupils of the Sunday school.
Rev. Robert Meally was the
chairman and Mrs. Norman Mc-
Clinchey presided at the church
organ. Several carolswere
sung and a Christmas message
was given by the rector. A
solo was sung by Mrs.
Gordon R. Taylor accom-
panied by Mrs. Robert J.
Philips. A welcome recitation
was given by Kathy Schneider
and a solo was sung by Diane
Kirkconnell. A recitation was
given by Ronald McPhee. Miss
Carole Brown played an organ
solo. A recitation and solo was
given by Wendy Schneider and
Bobby Schneider also gave a
recitation. The closing bene-
1iction was pronounced -and the
Prograin tvas broueht to a close
by singing, "Hark the Herald
Angels Sing."
