We have a full watch repair department as well. OB1 VARY KENNETH ROSS BELL Funeral service for Kenneth R. Bell, of 'Goderich, was held at the Stiles funeral home on Monday, . November 20, at 2, p.m., with the Rev. G. L. Royal, of Knox Presbyterian Church, officiating, ' Mr. Bell was Morn on the 2nd concession of Huron Township, near Ripley, and farmed for sev- eral years on the 8th conces- sion. In° 1914 he married Annie Hamilton Gemmell, who pre- deceased him in 1945. In 1933 he moved to Goderich, where he was employed by the Gode- rich Manufacturing Company from which he retired in 1958. In 1948 he " maxiied Mildred Gertrude Worthy and for 13 years they resided on Wolin Mr. Bell was a member • of the Ripley Branch of the IOOF, and received his 50 year Jewel in 1955. He was District De- puty fof Bruce District No. 10 in 1929. He wasalso a mem- ber of the Canadian Order of Foresters, the Union of Operat- ing Engineers and Knox Pres- byterian Church. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Walter •(Elsie) Scott, of Arkona; one son, William .Ross, of London; one brother, John, of Kincar- dine; two sisters, Mrs. Sam (Kate) \'ismer, of Waterloo, and Mrs. Andrew (Martha) Pat- terson, of Ripley; and five grandchildren. A joint service conducted by Goderich' IOOF No. 62, and Ripley IOOF No. 287 was held Sunday evening at 9 p.m. with approximately 40 members par- ticipating. Pallbearers were nephews, Cameron Bell, of Detroit; Stew- art Wismer and John Wismer, of Waterloo; Gordon Patterson, ofRipley; Bud Worthy; of Goderich; and Bob Huston, of Hamilton. Honorary pallbear- ers were Dan MacKay, of Rip- ley; John R, MacDonald, Mal- colm MacDonald and Dave Stewart, of Goderich. Inter- ment was in Maitland cemetery. This Christmas give her a chunk of romance. There is nothing that will go on giving as long as a diamond. Fresh, Plump, Tender Oven -Ready Peace Prayers Are Offered The November meeting of St. George's Woman's Auxiliary was presided over by the pre- sident, Mrs.. H. Tichborne, who Prayed for peace in the world. Litany, prayers were taken by Miss L. E. Durnin a, d prayer partner by Mrs. A. Palmer, Mrs. Rose Hill read the Scrip- ture. It was decided to accept the invitation of the Woman's Guild to assist in the Christmas par- cels for the sick •and shut-ins. The treasurer's report, given by Mrs. A. C. Blay, enabled members to give the money balance to the Diocesan W.A. wt i 1 1 I ' RtPa the proper channels. Mrs. W. Legg, Dorcas secretary, showed aprons and asked for contribu- tions for Christmas gifts for teen agers at Mohawk Institute, Brantford. The Girls' Auxil- iary leader, Mrs. W. Craven, asked for old silk stockings, scraps of wool and knitted . jer- sey material, to help the G.A. in their craft work. Both the Girls and Junior Auxiliaries put on a tea -and bazaar.,last Satur- day which was fairly well at- tended. A nominating committee com- posed of Mrs. A. Palmer, Mrs. E. .F. Sale and Mrs. H. Dodd wias appointed to bring in the slate of officers for 1962 at the annual meeting. Mrs. K. E. Taylor gave a short account of the proceed- ings at the Dominion annual meeting of the W.A. held ib Regina last September. Miss B. Lauder read t'ne iri- vitation to attend the .. World Council ofchurches in. New Delhi, The new study book, "Jest;s Christ the tight,, of the Wbrld," deals with the World Council of Churches, and will be taken by Mrs. -Taylor and Miss Lauder during te meet- ings of .the next year. Mem- bers were pleased to hear Miss G. Wilkes speak at tilt October meeting. -Corporate Communion will be held for all W.A. members at 10 a.m* 'in the church on St. Andrew's Day. After the benediction, lunch was served by Miss B. Lauder, Mrs. C. A. Clarke and Mrs. B. Munday. , COUPLE CELEBRATE 40TH ANNIVERSARY A family dinner was held at the hpme of IVir, and Archie Hamilton to honor Mr. and Mrs. James H. Johnston, South street, on the occasion of their 40th wedding annivers- ary. The couple have lived all their married life in Goderich. Mr. Johnston recently retired as assistant superintenicient at the. Goderich Elevator & Tran- sit Company, where he had worked for 36' years. They are both members of Victoria Street United Church, where Mr. Johnston is an elder and Mrs. Johnston a choir mem- ber. They have three daughters: Mrs. Archie (Doris) Hamilton, Saltford; Mrs. Marvin (Glenna) Bowles, of Farmington, New Mexico, and Marjory, at home. There are six grandchildren.
