sels is next in line with three
points, one legs than Clinton.

Therefore, it looks as if Win-
throp will play Clinton, and
Goderich will play Brussels
the semi-finals.
As Winthrop have beaten Clin-
ton twice already this season,
Winthrop shouldn't have much
trouble disposing of Clinton . in
the- first semi-final. .1 think
they will ;win the best of three
series in two games. In the
other semi-final I fully expect
Goderich to defeat Brussels, also
in two games. So, I am, in fact,
predicting a Winthrop-Goderich
final. If so, I think this series
will go three games, and you
pick the winner. On behalf of
Goderich Athletic, and the rest
of the clubs in the Huron County
Football Association, I would
' like to offer heartiest 'congratul-
I ations to the Winthrop boys, on
winning the league title.

District Final
After reaching the District C
finals, the pee wee baseball team
of Branch 109 Canadian Legion
lost out to the Kitchener Legion
Branch 50 team by a 13-3 score
at Kitchener on Saturday.'
The Kitchener team now en-
tors the Canadian Legion Pro-
vincial finals to be played at
Kitchener August 25 26. There
will be teams from eight of the
nine Legion districts participat-
ing.
Kitchener got six runs'in both
the fifth and sixth innings and
one in the seventh.. Goderich
got two runs in the siAh inning
and one in the seventh. Kitch-
ener got nine hits to five by
Goderich and had one error to
the, two, which Go.derieh

75 in a Trophy Shoot last week.
The final shoot will be held on

The Bissets now advance to
the finals of the Memorial Lea-
gue Northern Division against
Stratford Krbehlers in a .best
two -out -of -three series. Strat-
ford have three top hurlers in
Templeton, Lortie and McKen-
zie and this series should pro-
vide topexciting softball with
Grant Chisholm and Stan Doh-
erty, now in top form, for the
Bissets.
In their four meetings this
year, the Bissets have defeated
the Kroehlers three times, 6-4,
5-0 and 3-1, while losing by
the close score of 2-1. Attend-
ance at the local diamond has
been the highest in many years
and local fans are assured of
exciting softball when the -Kroe-
hlers and Bissets hook up.

FASTBALL TOURNAMENT
Galt Gaytops ladies' fastball
team won the annual Central
Ontario ladies' fastball .tourna-
ment at Stratford on Saturday.
They were undefeated in the,
elimination schedule of games
in which live teams took part:
Glen Mills, St. Marys, Goderich,
Waterloo, Galt. Goderich was
eliminated,. when Waterloo a.eDodgers de-
