The letter was as follows: "In conversation with Mrs. Mooney recently, Mr. Wright was questPo'heer as" to why the Girls Trumpet,' Band did not appear at the Dominioiz.,a„Day parade: Mrs. Mooney i s(Ced that a letter be sent to you explaining the situation. We of the Girls Band com- mittee have been trying to re- organiz and re-equip the band with trupets. This was started last fall and carried on throbgh- out .the - winter. - It is a large undertaking and required more time than we had .allotted. In the late spring we were not sat- isfied with the girls' progress and felt they were not suffic- iently well-trained for public appearance. Our May and June practices were discouraging as our senior girls were absent because of studying - for examinations and our juniors were still too inex- perienced to perform alone. It, therefore, came to the point where we had to decide if we were going to present a poorly trained band or cancel all prac- tices and engagements until September, when we could con- tinue to re-train the girls. The committee, after much thought, unanimously agreed to the' above deeision. 4••••••••••emim eetiesee•• ••••••••••Nli•N•••••••••••••••••N® '.
