M. Cutt Ltd., details of which are to be found in a full page advertisement elsewhere in this issue. Back in 1915, John Cutt, grandfather of the present head of •the firm, J. "Max" Cutt, came to Goderich from Grey Town- ship to start a grocefystore on the site of the pr€sent establish- ment. For 30 years he operated the, grocery and died in 1945. "Max" is married to the -form- er Florence Copp,- of Windsor, and- -they- have -three- children. Of the Kinsmen Club of Goderich-; a member of Branch 109 of the Canadian Legion; Officer Com- manding Maitland Air Cadets for ten years; a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. The original store on Victoria street was •18 feet wide in con- trast to the new, one which is about 65 feet wide, and 55 feet deep. The building of the new store was necessitated by a growing volume of business and cramp- ed quarters in the original store. In 1957, the Cutt family decided to join the Red and White group, which is sponsored by. National Grocers in order to pass on benefits of co-operative buying. It was a group of supervisors from the Red and White chain who planned the modern lay- out of the present establishment. At the front of the spacious store are large picture windows which offer• a "sweeping view of -..the-complete.-interior... The tire interior is a colorful com- bination of four diferent.11ues,. 'green; white, golden' yellow and pink. Over 80 signed the guest book in charge of their niece, Mrs. Garth Hamilton. Mrs. George Schaefer was the hostess and welcomed all the friends. The attractively decorated tea table was centred with a three - tiered wedding cake, flanked ,on each side by lighted golden candles in silver candelabra. Tea was poured by Mrs. Lewis Tay ,lor and Mrs. Thomas Taylor sisters-in-law of the celebrants'. The lunch was served by mem- bers of the Ladies' Aid with Mrs. J. A. Straiton as convener. Mr. Taylor remarked that tneir wedding day was very similar weather-wise to that of last week and that the day after their wedding it snowed.
