The odection of machinery
has not reduced the need for
abor nearly so much as it has

While the need for labor to
produce food has beengreatly
reduced, the need for labor to
manufacture and service the
tools _of production has 'been
vastly increased.
In industry, office work was
done by many clerks- and secre-
taries. Now it has progressed
throtigh the typewriter and add-
ing machine to the electronic
computer. It requires skilled
labor to manufacture these ma-
chines and trained technicians to
service them. Job opportunities
are quite plentiful in these
fields.
This, I suppose, leads . directly
to the need for a source of tech-
nical training in our own county.
