EDWARD Word has been received of the death Of a former Goderich re. sident, Joseph Jr Edward, who was proprietor of the Bahnoral Confectionery in the Bedford Block for several years. A son of the late John and Emma Ed- ward, he was born in Goderich Township in 187 , ..iii 191.1 ' Yie went out west. Surviving are his widow, the former Laura Hutt; a son,' Har - 'old, Saskatoon, % Saskatchewan; one granddaughter, four great- grandchildren; one niece, Mrs. Lillian Thomas; Stratford; and one nephew, F. A. Edward, Coquitlam, B.C. 1V1RS. JEREMIAI-1 TAYLOR A 'resident of Auburn, Mrs. Jeremiah Taylor passed away in Goderich on Monday. A daugh- ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Rutledge, she was born in West Wawanosh Township.. Surviving are one son, Gordon, Auburn; . one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Gladys) 1taithby, 30 Bel - grave avenue, London; two sis- ters, Miss Estella Rutledge, Goderich; Mrs, Mabel Westland, London; and three brothers; Wj1,, Liam Rutledge, Vancouver; Rob- ert and Gordon, Goderich. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at St. Mark's An- glican Church, Auburn, with the Arthur funeral home in charge. The pallbearers will be Ed. Davies, Tom Johnston, Robert J. Phillips, John Maize, Cliff Brovtrn and Harry Arthur. MRS. GEORGE BAECHLER Rev.,S. A. Monte conducted funeral services on Wednesday afternoon at the Stiles funeral home for a lifelong resident of Goderich, Ione Cutt Baechler, a member of a well-known Gode- rich family, who passed away in Alexandra Hospital on Monday after a long illness. Interment was in Colborne cemetery. A.. daughter :of. the ..late Robert H. Cutt and the former Ellen Hillier, Mrs. Baechler was born in 1900. After completing. -pub, lic and high schools'in town, she attended Stratford Normal School. In 1921 she married George Baechler. Mrs. Baechler was an active member of Vic- toria Street United Church, the Horne and School Association, the Rebekah Lodge, and of the Goderich Lawn Bowling Club.
