JAMES HENRY CASE
A ,former resident of Goderich
and Toronto, James Henry (Jim)
Case, of Orangeville, died sud-
denly on Sunday, March 26, at
Patin Beach, _Florida. At one
time Mr. Case owned and oper-
ated the Huron Chief Club on
Anglesea street'
He is survived by his widow,
the former Annie Ivah McCub-
bin, Orangeville; three daugh-
ters, Mrs. George (Bette) Han-
cox,.T,,oronto; Mrs. R. L. (Mary)
Richard, Chicago; Mrs. John
(Dorothy) Rush, Toronto; and
nine . grandchildre .

• Winter and summersports are
running side by' side at Agricul-
tural Park. Inside. the Arena,
hockey is the order of the 'day
as Young Canada Week is going
full steam ahead. Outside on
the track, harness horses are
trotting around, getting in shape
for the coming racing season.
Just as soon as the ground is
sufficiently dry, the soccer play-
ers of the Goderich Athletic
Association will go into action.
Exact ' date will be announced
later. Young soccer players, or
those anxious to learn the game,.
are urged to turn out. -
Goderich bantams go into ac-
tion at Gananoque on Friday
and Saturday nights in the first
two games ,of the final§ for the
O.M.H.A. Bantam "B" title. The
third game will be played at
Goderich on Friday night, .April
-
14. If a fourth game is necessary
it will be played at Goderich
on Saturday night, April 15. So,

will likely be turned .,off and
hockey willhave bowed out for
another, season. '
Leonard Overholt and Ken
Kerr left this week for Richelieu -
Park in Montreal where the
harness racing seaspn opens on'
April 15th. They expect to'com-
pete there for the entire racing
season which runs into late fall. -
These drivers will have seven
horses between them to compete
in the season's events down Mon-
treal way. Mr. Frank 'Dam lett,
Wednesday for Hamburg, New
York'with six horses to com-
pete foil' the season at Buffalo's
nearby track. ,
Goderich's "B" team ran up
a total score of 1,424 to capture
the high five game award in
the Men's Inter -Town Bowling
League. The scores for each
game were: 213; 336; 299; 25f1;
318. The Exeter "A" team won
the season schedule with only
a seven point lead over the
' second place Goderich "A" team.
The play-offs begin oil Saturday,
" April 8.
