Rev John Russell performed the ceremony in the presence of a goodly number of the friends of the contracting parties. Mise Grace Hunter, sister of the bride, performed the duties of bridesmaid while Mr Thomas Brook, brother of the groom, noted as groomsman. The congregation did not expeot that the conference would remove him this year, and would gladly have seen him stay for another year. On Sunday morning last be preached his farewell sermon to the (German congregation, from Romans 15, verse 3:1, and in the evening to the Eng- liab congregation from Galatians 1, verses 3 to 5 The church was tilled to its utmost capacity on both occasions. On Tuesday he left Dashwood for Hespeler which is his new appointment. We join in wishing Mr Yaeger every success in his new field of labor. He will be succeeded by Rev 8 Bean,—A number from Zurich attended the services in the Evangelical church last Sunday.—Athletic sports are the order of the day. Apparently some of our athletes cannot refrain from indulging in this past time cn Sunday. We hope that in the fu- ture thr shoulder stones may have a rest on Sanday Mr Louis Staubus is on the sick het this week.—Dashwood is going to have a haze ball club this season. V Orawford, after a son of the owner, Mr J Orawiord, of Wiarton.— The steamObarge 'Africa' with the steam barge 'Kinoardine', and the barge 'Severn' in tow, all coal laden, the 'Africa' and 'Severn' for Goderioh, and the 'Kincardine' for Owen Sound, arrived in this port on Saturday.—There was a false fire alarm on Saturday evening, a pile of rubbish being the pause —Thirty-six ladies and gentle- men of this town were present at a ball given by Clintonites last week.—Barrister Diokson of Seafortb was in the county town last week.—The rector of St George's, Rev. W le Young, exchanged pulpits with Rev Mr MoOosh of Petrolea last Sunday.— Mr. P Kelly of Blytu was in town last week. —The prop. 'Jones' with a tow of fishing boats left for the fishing islands last,week,— Mrs and Miss Toms returned on Friday from a six -months' visit to Indianapolis.— lohn Mosely, an old resident of town, died cf old age last Saturday, he having turned four soore years and ten.—The Oddfellows. of Goderioh celebrated their 72nd anniver- sary by attending St. George's church on Sunday. Rev Mr Mcdosh'preaohed an able and eloquent society sermon, and the choir rendered most excellent music. A number of the Clinton brethren assembled with the Lodge here. Messes 0 0 RICHADDs & Oo.
