.Doubts About Yourex.
Things may not, perhaps, reach a cul-
;•eivating point in conme etion with the
.urrestof the now fame3 Chester W Yourex
as quickly as at first anticipated. Chief
Newton, of Belleville, recently received a
letter from Germany purporting to be from
the police department there, but written
in a very questionable way, indicating that
the entire correspondence may be a blind
concocted by Yourex to put the victims off
the scent. The New York police know
nothing of him, though it was made to
appear that the first intimation of him was
from them, which fact creates distrust as
-Om the right man being arrested in Germany
Tho hero is evidently a connoisseur in his
line of trade and may not have trifled so
p,eriously near the chasm that divides law
from liberty as it once appeared. and may
yet smile. derisively at his victims who
expected him to fall over.
