Boy Scout 'Troop No. 1, "The Otters," went for a hike to Black's Point on Saturday. Albert Sehnurr, of Chathatn, was engaged as assistant to George MacVicar in the latter's boot and shoe .business. The 400 -foot extension to the north-west breakwater was com- pleted on Tuesday afternoon. There was considerable excite- ment in Goderich 'when one of the candidates in the forthcoming elec- tion in Centre Huron riding was summonsed to appear in police court to' answer a charge of brib- ery. 25 Years Ago Two Goderich boys, Fred Price and George Filsinger distinguished themselves when they went to the rescue of three 'girls and a Small boy who had gone in over their depth. in Lake Huron at the mouth of the 18 1ile giver in Ashfield Township. One girl drowned but the others Were saved by the quick action of the 1Goderich boys. The induction of Rev. W. P. Lane took place in North Street United Church on June 28. Hull about 2 quarts small strawbtrrie's. Measure 6 cup's whole berries (firmly Packed without crushing) into a very large saucepan: Add water and sugar. Now, make your, preserves. Place over high heat and bring to a full r611ing boil, stirring carefully to keep fruit whole. Reduce heat and boil gently a minutes. Remove from heat and at 'once stir in ,Certo.
