'An interesting article in' The
Goderieh Signal -Star of January 8,
about your retirement as Goderich
Separate- School Board secretary -
treasurer, prompts me to write
this letter to you. You can take
justifiable pride in your combined
record of 45 years' service on the
G.D.C.I. board, Public Library
Board arid Separate School Board.
I recall, with special thanks, your
fine co-operative service on the
G.C,I. board during at least part of
my father's , principalship, 1911-
1934. As I recall, it, , you were
always a fair-minded • trustee on
whose suppett my father could
count qn' the board.... I trust you
will not think my letter presump-
tuous in any 'way. In this crazy
old world, public spirited citizens,
as you have proven yourself to be,
in se many ways, are not given
half the credit and recognition they
deserve. Sir, I, at least, salute
yeti."
