If you've' been dreaming about a
white Christmas, at time of writing
it to a$ if that "s what you

"had last Christmas day. So, if you
are in these parts, we hope you
have an old-fashiened
Christma—
like those depicted on Christmas
cards. A foot of lovely snow came
Saturday night and when the sun
shone brightly Sunday morning,
what a scene it presented!
The United Church held a Christ-
mas service at 11 a.m., which was
very well attended by the villagers.
Even though roads were snow-
ploughed, the farm laneways were
filled in with snow and cars were
sitting solid. We hope during the
Christmas season to hear a few
sleighbells to make merry the
hearts of all.
Mr. Fred Fowler, Beamsville, re-
cently visited his brother, Charles
Fowler, Mrs. Fowler and Tom. Ile
has sold his fruit farm , and at
present is making his home with
his daughter, Mrs..William (Joan)
Admits, Welland.
Mr. and Mrs. 'John L. Fennell
and family, Douglas, Donald, Rose
Mary and David, of Bradford, spent
a .couple of days •with the lady's
mother, Mrs. L. Stingel.
Miss Lois Webster, teacher at
-Scarboro, is spending- the'in-ist-

in six hours. His visit will • mean
much to his parents as his father
has been quite ill, but is somewhat
improved. •
Mr. Wes. Rivett; son of Mr. and
Mrs. George Rivett, is visiting these
Nita and has just received his dis-
charge from the Navy after serving
five years.
The free clinic for dogs, cats,
etc., for proteetTiffragainst rabar
was well attended on Friday morn-
ing at the Parish Hall. A veterin-
ary from .Seaforth, administered
the serum. Mr. Kitchener Finni-
gan took the applications and
counted as many as 80 dogs and
many cats:. One young man who.
scouted around helping neighbors
with their pets suddenly reinember
-ed he-should—get—his own there. -
He was only partly successful, for
when nearing the building, the old
black puss" became uneontrolable
and took off to parts -unknown. He
showed up later in the day when he
thought all danger was past. A
man who lives a few miles north
of here is suffering from this
plague and'. is -receiving treatment
in a London hospital. It is hoped
that with aid from the clinics,
rabies will soon be a thing of the
past.
