who celebrated 'his -84th birthday
on Saturday last.
Mr. Armstrong frntered the min-
istry in 1897 after receiving his
primary education in Goderieb, and
many years:ago he fulfilled the` 40
years' service required for retire.

taken ill Tuesday before noon on

gave attention when he was taken
to Goderich hospital for an emerg-
ency operation. It is reported his
condition is favorable. ,.

WORLD WHEAT QUEEN, 15 -year, -old Gail Adams .of
Drumheller, Alta., displays a sheaf of the prize wheat that
won her the title at the. Royal Agricultural Winter Fair to
E. A. Bromley, 'vice-president; Canadian National Railways.
Gail, a first-year member of the Drumheller 4-H, Grain
Club, won with a sample of Chinook wheat. Hier entry was
chosen from hundreds submitted from Canada, the United
States and five other countries. Mr. Bromley presented the
charming champion with CNR's world wheat trophy, an
engraved silver tray and a cheque for $100.
