Hockey League this winter, it was
decided at the regular meeting on
November 13,
The manager and coach will be
Howard - Carroll, and he„ will be
assisted by Charlie Cadman. Sixty -
'eight boys, ranging in age from
six to .10, years,• have already
registered.
Mac MacAulay's boxing and
.physical training class was voted
funds to carry on. This winter, the
class will, be quartered in the
Legion Hall, with equipment , set
up in the upstairs ante -room. About
40 young hopefuls are expected to
register.
A cribbage league is being or-
ganized and there will be monthly
inter -branch, tournaments -
The umhof $100 was voted to
the Legion branch -at -Springhill,
N.S., to be used among needy
veterans' families.

FETE MANAGER, COACH'
The members of the Goderich
Dodgers softball team held a sur
prise party at the home of Mr,
and Mrs. M. N. MacDonald, Bruce
street, last Sunday evening in,
honor of their manager, "Mac"
MacDonald, and their coach; Guy
Emerson.
During' the evening "Mac" and
Guy were each presented with flan-
nel shirts in appreciation of their
work with the team. Conveners
for the surprise party were Audrey
Harrison and Kaye Sharp.

The bride was gowned in white
satin, with 'lace yoke, and peplum
and an overskirt of marquisette.

tiara and she carried deep red
roses. •

honor. Mr. Elton Mahood, brother
of the groom, was best man. Bill
Allcock was usher.
Following the wedding, a recep-
tion was held at Victoria Street
United Church. Mrs. Allen receiv-
ed wearing rainbow blue satin back
crepe with pink accessories and
pink carnations,. She was assisted
by Mrs. Mahood, gowned in a teal
blue ensemble with white aeces-
- sories• and pink carnations. • •
Mr, and Mrs. Mahood left for a
trip to southern points. They will
reside in ,Goder-ieh. - '

Friday. Connelly, a right-handed
shot, is a pre -Christmas present
from Detroit Red Wings. They
have ;Loaned him to ,Goderich for
the season.

he didn't want to reave school in
North Bay.

At Tuesday's game in Wood-
stock, Goderich scorers -- besides
Gallow, Connelly and Mason—were
Don Brown, "Moe" Beale, Ron Jes
sop and Cliff Galloway. '
As in every other game this sea-
son, the Tars again collected more
penalties than their opposition, Of
the total of 24 penalties handed
out, Goderich got 13 Minors, one
misconduct and a major.

Jack Evans today.
The Tars face their toughest test
yet when they go to Sarnia to play
the powerful Legionnaires (defend-
ing Ontario champions) Saturday
night. The Sarnia club is unde-
feated in five games.

The junior girls' volleyball team
from 'Goderich District . Collegiate
Institute won the Western Ontario
Secondary Schools' ' Association
junior ,"X" crown in the annual
tournament at_ London Saturday,
Earlier thisseason, the GDCI
junior girls captured the Huron
Secondary Schools' Association
championship, defeating` Wingham,
Clinton and Seaforth teams.

rounds of the WOSSA tournament

In the first set, Goderich defeat-
ed Simcoe 13-9 and 15-5. Marlene

points. Goderich won the' semi-
finals *by defeating Leamington
15-5, 8-12 and 14-11. High ,scorers
were Diane Lierman and Barbara
Alexander with seven points apiece.

set up a committee of the whole.

eum at Colborne cemetery,
.The council has been very grati-
fied at the many expressions ' of

on its efforts to improve. the ceme-
tery and it is felt •that, the con-
struction of a chapel mausoleum

burial services, particularly during
1 the winter months.
Several large donations have al-
ready been pledged and a mausol-
eum trust fund has been establish-
ed into which all donations will be
deposited. 3t is anticipated that,
if the, response for funds is great
enough, the building "may ' take
place this corning year.
It is the intention of the commit-
tee to register the name of each
donor in a memorial register which
Wil ibe placed permanently in the
mausoleum. It is expected that
'many former residents of Colborne
Township, as well as the'local popu-
lation, will be desirous of assisting
in this project in memory of family
and' loved ones now resting in the
cemetery.

are pleased to report Allan Brown,
son of Mr, and Mrs. Ben Brawn,'15
home from Goderich hospital after
an operation for appendicitis last.

Larry Hawkins, son of Mr. and
Mrs. 'Jim Hawkins, had the mis-
fortune to fall off a couch, landing
on sofa l! of his toys and cutting
his arm. Several stitches were
needed to close the wound.
Three jeeploads of local boys
have,now succeeded in driving froxn
Goderich to Kincardine on the
beach. The jeep drivers were Ken
McGee,, of Goderich, Don Fuller,
of Goderich Township, and Bob
Rising, Sheppardton. They were
accompanied by passengers and all
enjoyed the outing very much,
