The Dungannon Women's Insti-
tute on Friday night gave - a Hal-
lowe'en Party to the young fry at
the Parish Nall. This was made.
possible by the thoughtful donation
of $15 from Lucknow tions Club.
The children, numbering -about 75
in costume, made a colorful dis•
play. The children behaved well
and quietly took their "planes for
each class, as - they marched to

At GDCI Commencement
The annual commencement and
graduation exercises of Goderich
District Collegiate Institute will be
held in the School Auditorium on
Friday evening, commencing at
8.30 o'clock.
Special, speaker for the occasion
will be Judge F. Fingland. Pre-
sentation of certificates, diplomas,
scholarships, prizes and bursaries
will be made at this time.
At the conclusion of the program,
parents and 'friends of the .gradu-

MRS. ROBERT McILLWATN
Following a long illness, with the
last year :and a half°as a patient
in Alexandra hospital, Mrs:Robert
McIllwaln, died on Sunday last:
Deceased was 91 years of age and
was the former Amelia Hethering-
ton, daughter of the late -Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Hetherlfigtozi, of Col•

Mr. and Mrs. Ken Christner, and
baby, of Rochester, Michigan, spent
the week=end With the latter's
aunts, Mrs. Eldon Culbert, Mrs.
Clarence Hoy and uncle, Mr. How-

riage to Robert Mclllwain, they
resided at Nile where Mr. McIll-
wain built the general store. Af-
ter his death some years a'go, Mrs.
;Mclllwain continued to operate the
store. She was a member of Nile
United church,
Surviving besides her son, Frank-
lin, of Carlow, is a granddaughter,
Mrs. Gary (Glenda) Byrd, of Gode•
rich, and a sister, Mrs. Frank Haw -
kin, of Toronto.
The funeral service at,the Arthur
funeral home, Auburn, was conduc-
ted by Rev. R. G. MacMillan, of

JAYCEES WILL
START COURSE
About 20 members of the Gode-
rich Jaycees have registered to take,
the leadership training lectures on
effective speaking and rules of pro-
cedure which course will commence
on Thursday, November 13, at the
old collegiate building. They''will
be held there weekly thereafter.

instructor in public speaking °and

in taking the aforementioned lee -

or be present at the opening lec-
ture at the old collegiate on No-
vember 13.
At a meeting of the Jaycees Wed-
nesday night the guest speaker was
Mr. George Jefferson, retired prin-
cipal of Clinton Public School. He
spoke on the benefits of self educa-
tion and the furtherance 'of the
education of young men.
At the meeting Wednesday night'
three new committees 'were ap-
pointed'as follows: Christmas light-
ing; civic fairs—get out the vote;
brotherhood week.
A former president of the Gode-
rich Jaycees; Cecil Hoffman; has
been elected to the board of direc-
tors of the newly chartered North.

HALLOWE'EN WINNERS
It was a colorful gathering at
the Pavilion last Friday evening a$
gaily costumed masqueraders at-
tended the Hallowe'en dance spon-
sored by the Jaycettes.
Judging took place at midnight
