A former resideflt of Goderich
died at Toronto on October 8, in
his 80th year following a short in-!
ness. His parents were' the late I
Mr.. and _Mrs.. John -Callahan, ef I
Connecticut. He ,was married to
Mary Josephine Fiekell, in Toronto,
in 1910.
Deceased came to Goderich as a
Canadian National Railway conduc-
tor and with his wife resided on
Bennett street. His wife prede-
ceased him in 1944 and shortly
afterwards. Mr. Callahan moved to
Toronto where he has since re-
sided.
One brother, Vincent Callahan,
of Englewood, New Jersey, sur-
vives.
The funeral on Friday afternoon
last was at the Lodge funeral home
with interment in Maitland 'ceme-
tery. Rev. Dr. K. E. Taylor, of-
ficiated.

Hospital, on Friday, October 10.
He was a' sop of the iate Henry
Boyle and Julia Brophy and was
born in West Wawanosh Township
where he resided until he moved

lAugustine to Mary Johanna Glas-
gow who still survives as well as
I one sister, Mrs. Helen Hays, of
I Toronto, and three brothers,

! liam and, Alphonsus, of Goderich.

Peter's -Church on Monday morning!

Augustine cemetery. • The pallbear-
ers were Oswald Pollard, James
Chisholm, Norman Bogle, Cyril II

Craigie Doner, 86, widow of Wm, A.
Doper. Mrs. Doner died October 3
at Toronto Western hospital. In-
terment was in Mount Pleasant
cemetery.
Mrs. Doner'born and educated
in Goderieh, had been a Toronto
resident for 40 years. She waS a
member of Deer Park United
Church.
She is survived by two daughter's,
Mrs. Mabel Penny, of San Fern-
ando, Cal., and Helen Doner, of
Toronto; three sons, Alex, Dick
and Fred Doner, all of Toronto;
six grandchildren and five great-
grandchildren and a sister, Mrs.
Willian Abell, of„Goderich.
Mrs. Abell,and Mrs. J. W. Craigie
attended . the funeral.
John Sebastian Bach had other
claims to distinction besides his
music. He was twice married and
the father of twenty children. '
THOMAS H. CARRICK .
Thomas 11, Carrick, who had been
, ill for the past several months,
died at Windsor on Saturday last. I
He was born 77 years ago in Hul-
lett Town'ship where his parents. h

Funeral services v, ere held in,
Toronto on October 3 for Samuel
M. Finnie, 02, father of Victor
Finnic,. of Goderich.
Born in Scotland, he came to
Canada in 1912. In World War I
he served overseas with the 48th
Highlanders apd the 92nd Battalion ,
until he was invalided home in
1918 as a victim of gas. During
World War II, Mr, Finnic .served
in the Veterans' Guard and helped
guard German prison •cainps in
Canada. ,
. He was on the staff of Sunny -
brook Hospital at the time of his
fatal illness. He leaves his widow,
one daughter and four sons.

was held ,of
Lodge funeral home
on Monday afternoon with inter-
ment in Maitland cemetery. Rev,
R. G. MacMillan officiated and the
pallbearers were Edward Soyverby,
,Keith Revell, John Porter, J, Reg-
inald Johnston, Francis Chisholm
and Benson Sowerby,
Mr. Bell was a son or the late
Robert Bell and Elizabeth Carruth-
ers, of Goderich Township, and was
