The "Country Fair" at .the Dun- gannon Schdbl last Friday after- noon, postponed from Thursday for better weather, .was fortunate in having a nice sunny afternoon. The affair, planned from sum- mer, by the teachers' and pupils, drew, many. The Dungannon United Church service net Sunday morning is cancelled to allow members ,to at- tend anniversary ..Services morning and evening at the Port Albert United Church. This community last Friday morning was very much saddened and heartfelt sympathy went out to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Maize in the loss of their little six-year-old daughter, Wilda Mae, who has Suf- fered since birth with a rare heart condition. She underwent a surg- ical operation last Thursday at Sick Children's Hospital, Toronto, but succumbed Friday morning. Had she lived through the -ordeal, it would have •been one ot.the most. miraculous Operations yet perform- ed of this kind, ' Her first oper- ation was successful when she was 14 months -old. It was known then, a series of operations must follow, Her heart condition, at the age of five, necessitated an operation on her eyes, She had been attending sc,hool at S.S. No. 6, Ashfield, and on Monday afternoon her teacher, Mrs. Robert Irvin, with pupils, at- tended the funeral service at Luck: now. The Pall- bearers were Glen Weaver, Albert Clark, 'Glen Springer and Alex Stoykoff. Interment was made, in Dungannon cemetery. Mrs, Robert Armstrong, 88, is at the present time seriously ill at her home.
