In addition to sand and silt there h'iiiie been - tree trunks (washed down from the mouth of the Mait- land River), telephone poles, dead fish, shale rock (as a result of blasting), old tires used as bump- ers on boats, cables, beer bottles, old cement, etc. It is' expected that dredging oper: ations at the harbor' will- not be completed until the end of the navigation season next year. Dredg- The W.M.S. and WA met on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Harold Woods with 11 ladies present. Mrs. Tom Armstrong pre- sided over the W.M.B. program. Readings were given by Mrs. 11. Jefferson, Mrs. Jas. Leddy and Mrs. 11 Chamney. Mrs. Sam Thompson read the chapter in the study book. A bazaar was held, which netted $10. ,There were '11 ladies pre- sent." ' Lunch was served by the hostess, assisted ,by 'Mrs. H. Jeffer- son and Mrs. Sam Thompson. Mrs. Elizabeth Naylor, of Wing - ham, spent last week with her son, 'Gordon, Mrs. Naylor and family.
