For several weeks past explosions have been heard and their force felt in the vicinity of T.00kwood, Mo., like heavy blasting, growing more violent each day. Its course seemed to be from the north to south. The largest representative body of women the world has ever known will assemble at Washington on the 13th. of February next. An idea of the im- portance of this convention may be gained from the tact that eleven of the most important national organiz- ations of women will t e represented. It will be held under the auspices of the International, council of Women, of which Millicent Garrett Fawcett, of England, is president. and the Nat- ional Council of Women of the United States.
