Prairie, and two sisters, Mrs. Flor-
ence Anderson, of Auburn, , and
Mrs. Fern Shackleton, 'of Toronto.
Three sons predeceased him. The
Masonic funeral was held at Cham-
pion, Albert,,with the honorary
pallbearers btriffg,members of the
Masonic Order and old friends.
The active pallbearers ;weresix
nephews, Donald, Lorne, Stuart
and Donald Patterson,.DOnald Mal-
lory and Tom Anderson.
Mrs. Garfield Staubus. Resid-
ents of this district were Saddened
last week' to learn, that Mrs. Gar-
field, Staubus, of Detroit, formerly
Margaret,Wagner, had passed away
at the age of 51 years. She' was
born in Hullett Township in the
Mailleps1 _Bleck, the daughter of
the late Mr.-tird Ms: Harry Wag;
ner andqittended school at S,S. No.
9, Hullett. In 1026 she married
and made their home in Detroit,
where they resided ever since. Be-
sides her husband, she is survived
by her daughter (Marie) Mrs. Long-
fellow, and three grandchildren, of
Defroit;, alsO two sisters, (Cath-
erine) Mrs. James Jackson, of
Auburn, and (Mamie) Mrs. William
Lenip, of Hamilton and one bro-
ther, Fred, of Auburn. The fun-
eral service was conducted at the
St. Paul's Lutheran Churd,h; Wyan-
dotte, Mich., on Tuesday July 22,
with interment taking place in the
Michigan Memorial cemetery. Mr.
and -Mrs. Fred Wagner, Mrs; James
Jackson and Miss Minnie Wagner
attended the funeral from this dis-
trict.
• Mr. Harvey McGee, of North Bay,
is vacationing at the home of his
cousin, Mrs. Maitland Allen, and
Mr. Allen.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Asquith, of
Toronto, are visiting with his par-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Asquith.
Mrs. Chester McPhee returned to
her -home last week after several
weeks in the •Clinton hospital. -

were Kitchener visitors last Friday.

Mrs. William J. Carey„ a Gode-
rich resident for 45 years, died in
Alexandra Hospital on Monday last
at the age. of 30 years. She was
the former Hattie Steep, a (laugh-
ter of the late George Steep and
Catharine Colelough, of Goderich
Township.
