that arrangements had been made
by the boys to have, the stone re-
stored, to its ,proper place in the
Bautista Cemetery,
nelly said he believed the tomb-
stone was taken on a -dare. Crown
Attorney H. Glenn Hays Suggested
that the boys intended to carry it
back across the border with them.
The youths ,,were apprehended
by Provincial Constables Al Hardy
and Alex Twaddle who were out
on patrol when they spotted lights
of a car 'in the cemetery. The
officers followed the car into Bay-
field, were they questioned the
pair and found the tombston -in
the car.
A tombstone was also re.m ed
from the Bayfield Cemetery last
year, said the -frown attorney.
The tombstone -taken by Hender-
son and Pongraez was that vf a
man who died in 1870. Apparent-
ly his family went West before the
beginning of this century, so there
are no • known relatives around
here now..
According to an estimate, it
would cost $90 to restore the tomb-
stone on a solid base in the ceme-
tery..

A friend of mine said "If you can
make jelly from one kind of fruit,
'then jelly made from two kinds of
fruit will be twice as good !" Well,
that's certainly true of the fol-
lowing recipe:
CURRANT AND '
RASPBERRY JELLY
" 4t2 cups juice (about 1 quart 4
fully ripe red currants and 11/2
.quasrts.gripe-,red„xaspbera:ies,l,-,- ..
7 cups (3 lbs:) sugar,
t2 bottle Certo fruit pectin
First, prepare the juice. Crush 1
• quart fully ripe red currants. Add
,3/4 cup water and bring to a boil.
Crush about 11/ quarts fully ripe
red raspberries. Place fruits in
jelly bag and squeeze out juice.
Measure 41/2 cups into very large
saucepan,.
Now make the jelly. Add sugar to
juice in saucepan. Mix well. Place
.over high heat. Bringrto .a boil,
stirring constantly. Stir in Certo
at once. Bring to a full rolling boil.
Boll hard 1 minute, stirring con-
stantly. Remove from heat, skim
off foam with metal spoon. Pour
,quickly into glasses. - Cover at
once with js inch hot paraffin.
Makes about 11. medium glasses.
Where does pectin 'come from?
Well, pectin is the ).elling sub-
stance found in all fruits in vary-
ing amounts. Certo is pectin ex-
lracted 'from fruits rich int tli.ib
natural substance, then refined,.
concentrated and performance -
controlled. 'Your jam and jelly set
extictty right when you use Certo
and follow the tested Certo
recipes.
