United W.M.ti - The United
Church W.M.S. on Friday after-
noon held the April meeting in the
church basement with Mrs. Harvey
Ander so n, vice-president,., in
charge. Mrs. C. Slake presided
at the piano.. Mrs. Anderson read
the prayer and Scripture lesson.
The auxiliary is invited to Hack-
ett's Thank -offering meeting on
Tuesday, April 8th. Mrs, Reed re-
ported $31.10 sent to the Huron
Presbytery for the first quarter of
the year, Mrs. E. Rivett reported
for Huron Presbytery ,at Clinton.
The theme of the meeting was
Current Trends and Women's
Work. A special feature of the
missionary meeting was the af-
filiation of the CGIT with the aux.
iliary. Jewel Reed, a member, led
and gave the call to worship. Mrs.
C. Blake was at the piano' for the
hymns. Sandra Brooks read the
Scripture less n; Karen DaWSMI
collected the offerings and Joyce
Culbert offered prayer. 'Mrs: Andez ,
son and,,Mrs. M. Reed took part in
the ceremony. The girls proxAot-

first Good Friday. The CIT girls
served afternoon tea -and- lunch.
Mrs. Robert Durnin tnet with a
very painful accident: last Monday
morning. While feeding the wash-
ed clothing through the ,wringer,
herr left hand was caught. Twenty-
one . stitches were necessary to
close the wound.
Easter Services. -The three vil-
lage churches on Easter Sunday,
were well attended by members and
several visitors. Spring flowers
and Baster; lilies were the special
decorations. Sacrament was serv-
ed at the Anglican service and also
at the united Church. The com-
municants' class were received as
members by the United Church -
minister, • Rev. R. Kennedy, and
were also welcomed by Mr. Heber
Eedy,' representing the congrega
tion. The new members are

The -comedy, "Much Ado A.bqut
Nothing" will bring the distin-
guished English actress, Eileen
H'erlie to Stratford to co-star with
Christopher Plummer as the two
sharp-tongued lovers, Beatrice and
Benedick. William Hutt of Ottawa
will also star in this production to
be directed by Michael Langham
and designed by Desmond Heeley.
The third play, "The Winter's
Tale" will open on July 21, and
will be directed by Douglas Camp-
bell, popular Festival actor and co-
founder and, former director of the
Canadian Players. Christopher
Plummer 'and Eileen Herlie •will
again star with Bruno Gerussi.
Costumes will be by Tanya
Moieeiwitsch.
The -Fourth 'Annual Music Fest-
ival will, feature a production of
the eighteen . edlitwesi "musical
comedy" by John Gay, "The Beg-
gar's Opera." The. -lighthearted ex-
travaganza will star Robert Goulet,
popular host of CBC Showtime,
as the debonaire highwayman,
Captain Macheath. A Festival pro-
duction, the music will be conduct-
ed by Louis Applebaum. and the.
opera directed, by Tom Brown.
Brian Jackson will design sets and
costumes for the'•show which will
be given 12 performances .between
July 29 and -August 16. Concerts,
will. be given by the Festival Sing -
and the -New -York -Pro Musica.
