bring in the slate of officers at the
March meeting. There was a dis-
play of hooked mats done by some
of the members. The summary
day will be held in Londesborough

and showed some of the skirts and
record books. Ten girls completed
the project.- Musical numbers on
the -accordion -were, played -by -Mrs

Agriculture and Canadian Indus-
tries, Mrs. Keith Machan, gave an
interesting paper on this subject.

W.A. Meets.—Knox United W.A.
met last Tuesday evening with the
Loyal Hearts group in charge of
the program. The- devotional per-
iod was -led Iby Mrs. 'William T.
Robison, with Mrs. George Millian
at the piano. Scripture was read
by Miss Margaret R. Jackson. Mrs.
Fred Toll , gave meditation. Mrs.
George Wilkin sang a solo accom-
panied by Mrs. William J. Craig.
Rev. R. S. Hiltz introduced the
guest speaker for theevening,
Rev, Dr. 'Semple, of Egmondville.
The theme of his address was "The
Church. and Its Relation to .the
Offender." He had spent a year
working and talking with the in-
ates at the reformatory at Guelph
and told of his experiences while
there. Mrs. Charles Straughan
thanked Dr'. Semple for his inter-
esting address. The offering was
received by Mrs. Oliver Ande son
and Mrs. Alvin Plunkett. m Mrs.
Maurice Bean, president, took
charge of the business period. The
Rainbow Group will have charge
of the March meeting. y
Walkerburn Club Meets. — The
February meeting of the Walker -
burn Club was held last Thursday
at the home of Mrs. Bert Hunking
with 20 members present. The
president, Mrs. James McDougall,
presided. • Prayer was by Mrs.
Stanley Ball. Mrs. Elliott Lapp
was the winner of the' draw. Plans
were made for quilts and a col-
lection of old woollens is to be
shown at the. next meeting. The
program was in charge of Mrs.
William Hunking and Mrs. Stanley
Ball. Lunch was served by Mes-
dames James Jackson, Elliott Lapp,
James McDougall and "Andrew
Kirkconnell.
Euchre Party at 5.S .No. 9.—Mr.
Wilmer Errington and his pupils
at SS. No. 9, Hullett, held a suc-
cessful card party last Friday even-
ing in the schoolroom with a good
attendance. Prize winners were:
high lady, 'William 'Wagner (play-
ing as lady); low lady, Mrs. Joe
Hunking; high man, Arthur Hal-
lam; low man, Harry Webster.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Raithby at-
tended the funeral last Saturday
at Whitechurch of the late Sam
�oulter.
Mrs. Glen Raithby, of London,
spent the week -end with Mr. and

Mrs. George McNall.,Funeral'
services were held'at the J. K.
Arthur funeral home on Monday,
March' 3rd, far Mrs. George Mc -
'Nall; who passed away at Seaforth
on February 28. She was 82 years
of age and was born `June 10, 1876,
in Biddulph Township, near Lucan.
She was the daughter of the late
1VIr. and Mrs. Thomas Wilson; and
moved to 'Ashfield 'township, near
Kingsbridge, With her parents,
where she attended school. In
1894, she was married to �k1VIr,
" George McNall, who passed away
some years ago. They resided at
Lucknow -and_-Blyth _ For -the -past
two -years •-she has-been in failing
health and until a few months ago
ne hee-home- vith�-her•-daughter,
Mrs. Bert Craig. She was a mem-
ber of Blyth United Church. She
is survived by one daughter, Mrs.
Bert (Ena) Craig, Auburn, George;
of Blyth, Sam, of Goderich Town-
ship, and Wellington, of Blyth.
Predeceasing her was one daugh-
ter, (Ella) Mrs. William Hamm,
also two sons, Thomas and John,
two children in infancy. - The late
Mrs. McNall is syrvived by 19
grandchildren, 30 great-grand-
children, and one sister, Mrs.
Michael (Catherine) Ohler, of
Goderich. The funeral service was
conducted by Rev..R. S.. Hiltz..with
interment in Blyth Union ceme-
tery. Pallbearers were grandsons,
Donald, Robert and„,Douglas Mc -
Nall, Earl Hamm, Leopard Archam-
bault and Verdun Vanstone.
Flowerbearers were James Howatt,
James Pierce, Elgin McNall, Rod
Johnston, Ed. Johnston and Tom
MoNall. -
Mrs. Mary McNall, Mr. Robert

in- the village and attending the
funeral of the late Mrs. George
McNall.

OBITUARY
MISS` 11SABEL STRACHAN
Death occurred- in New York
City, February 28th, of Miss Isabel
Strachan, daughter Of the . late
David K. and Susan Strachan, after
a lengthy illness.
Miss Strachan was bol n in Gode-
rich but had resided in New York
City for the past 50 years. She
is survived by three sisters.
Funeral services March 5th, bur-
ial in Cypress Hills cemetery,
Brooklyn, N.Y.

Some crippled children must have the suport' of braces on their
legs ,or arms to hel " them move about and be self-sufficient.
The Ontario Society for Crippled Children and the 220 'Easter
Seal service - clubs in the Province go to the public annually
asking for their support to help these handicapped youngsters.
The campaign, which runs until April 6th, has a provincial
- objective of $750,000. The Goderich Lions Club has distribut-
ed the Easter Seals in the Goderioh district.

• Congratulations to Mrs. S. J.
Kilpatrick, who observed her 82nd
birthday. It so happens Mrs. Kil-
patrick was born on the last day
of February on a Leap Year and
only has a real birthday once in
four. As it seemed missing this
year, Sunday was 'the day chosen
for observance and she enjoyed
the day with her daughter, Mrs.
Cecil Blake. Other visitors were
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Anderson
and family, of Ashfield, and Mrs.
Frances Henry, of the village.
Erskine Presbyterian Church, on
Sunday afternoon had as guest
speaker, John Congram, student
minister, of Waterloo College, who
is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
•Congram, .Wingham. Rev. Wallace
McClean conducted the service at
the regular time, 3 p.m. Young
men of the church were in the
choir, leading the singing, and Miss
Norma Murray presided at the
organ for hymns. "What are you
going, to do with your life?" was
the subject of his sermon which
was full of challenge. His coming
t6 the pulpit was in accordance
with Maitland Presbytery's Bursary

County of Huron for1,relief from its obligation to rebuild the
old bridge on Higlyway Number 21 over the Bayfield River at
the Village of Bayfield.
The Ontario Municipal Board hereby appoints Monday the 28th
day of . April, 1958, at the hour of half past one o'clock in the
afternoon at the Court House in. Goderich for the hearing of
all parties interesed in support or in opposition to the said
application. Dated at Toronto this 20th day of February, 1958.

RESOLUTION NO. 1, 1957.
• WHEREAS, the Bayfield Bridge, over the Bayfield River at the,
Village of Bayfield was replaced by a'' new bridge on Highway
No. 21 and the old Bridge is not required for Public Traffic on
said Highway No. 21, and the former portion of the road on
which said old bridge stands, has been reverted to the County
of Huron by the Department of Highways.
THEREFORE, be it _resolved, that under authority of the.
Municipal- Act, Chapter 243, Section 453, Sub -section 10, the
County of Huron make application to the Ontario Municipal
Board to relieve°.fhe,said County from 'rebuilding this bridge
as it no longer required far'x'public conveyance and would
entail , more expense than would be reasonable for the use
made of it. -
Passed in open Council this 14th day of November, 1957.
