The resignation of Mrs. Howard Feagan as pianist of the church was accepted with regret. The congregation unanimously decided to make arrangements for redecor- ating of the church auditorium and a committee was appointed. Presentation v---At-•a-reeent eengregational social held in Benmiller Church, the pre- sentation of a folding serving cart and coffee maker was made to Mrs. Howard Feagan, retiring church pianist.. The presentation was made by Mrs. A..M. Straughan and Mrs. E. T. Pfrimmer on behalf of the congregation, in appreciation of . her willing service in this cap- acity for. ten years. ,Mrs. -Feagan gave her sincere thanks for the gifts and for the co-operation given to her during her time as pianist. The inspiring service wa• led by Garry Allan with the Scripture read by Chrystal Straughan and the re- sponsive reading led by Bill Straughan. The choir, made up of the Young People of the •congre- gation gave a special number and Mrs. Frank 1V1oidichael told an in- teresting story. The C.G.I.T. gave their purpose and the Trail Bang- ers gave their opening ceremony led by Gerald McMichael. Prayer was given by Ross Fisher. The leaders of th C.C.I.T. are Mrs. Frank Mo Ad. Mrs. Ken Fisher, and of the Trail Rangers, Rev. S. A. Moote and' Ross Fisher. W.A. and W.M.S. Meeting • The regular meeting of the WJVI.S. and W.A. of Benmiller Church was "held on Wednesday, February 5. The president of the W.M.S., Mrs. J. Stewart, conducted the business part of the meeting while Mrs. E. T. Pfrimmer arrang- ed i, a .devotional section and Mrs. Stanley Snyder read a chapter , in the study book on Japan. The ladies decided to attend the World Day of Paryer service in = oderich.- — .��..w .. The Woman's Association pre- sident, Mrs./Milford Durst, pre- sided for the latter half of the meeting which was opened with a thought provoking meditation by Mrs• S. A. iMoote. The roll call was answered with a favorite verge - by the 30 members present. It was a unanimous decision to ap- point Mrs. Garvin Young to fill the vcaancy of second vice-president. The parsonage project and the de- coration of the church auditorium were discussed as well as the plan to bring_to.-.the Qnth1Y, meetings_ magazines which will be distribut- ed by the members to hospital patients. Plans for the men's and boys' banquet to be held 'in March were made. Expenses of the ven- ture will be shouldered by the W.A.- and all the men and boys of the Benmiller community will be invited. The society also has de- cided to take in the Harbouraires Concert in April as a group activ- ity.' The meeting closed . with prayer by Mr. Moote and a lovely lunch was served by the hostesses, BAYFI ELD ' BAYFIELD, Feb. 10•—Corporal J. C. Brown, Camp Borden, 'Vent the week -end with his wife and family• Mr. and Mrs. Keith Leonard and five children, of WilloWdale, spent the week -end with Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Featherston. Corporal Ralph and Mrs. Moore and family left on Thursday Tor Windsor,, Nova Scotia. Rev. Fred Jewell, Grimsby, spent Friday arid Saturday with Mr. and Mrsy.Lindsay Smith. Miss Betty Anne Beard, London, spent the week -end in the village. The W.M.S. of St. Andrew's Unit- ed Church met on Thursday at the home of Misses Maude and Jose- phine'Stirling. The president, Mrs, Harvey Rohner, conducted the meeting. Mrs. Gladwin Westlake read an interesting story on Japan. Arrangements were made for the World Day of Prayer,,to . be held on February 21it in the United Church. Lunch was served by the Misses Stirling. -- George Fulford, Stratford, spent the week -end at his home. Stanley Telford left last week for Toronto where he will'be em- ployed- with Bryah's Construction Company. Trinity Club. — The February Meeting of the Trinity Club was held on Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. M. F. Corrie. There were 14 present. Mrs. E. Hovey gave a reading, followed by the Scripture, given by Mrs. 'Ross Mid- dleton and Miss Berthena Sturgeon offered prayer. Plans for catering to the CDCI "At Home" on Febru- ary 21st, were completed. Mrs. John Howard was the guest speak- er and chose as her subject "The Wonders of Nature." The hostess Served lunch, assisted by Mrs. Douglas Carswell and Mrs. -A. F. Scotchmer. The Bayfield firemen with their wives held a social party in the fire hall on Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Perthale rtiov ed into their house, which they recently purchased from Miss' Clara, Clark. Mr. and Mrs. ,1. Bodenham are spending a few days at London. KINGSBRIDGE .KINGSBRIDGE, Feb. 10. — Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Courtney and Gary visited with relatives in Tor- onto last week -end. Congratulations to Miss Betty Lou Vassell-' on her graduation from'Wingham hospital as a nurs- ing assistant after a ten -months' course. - - -Tbe death of the late Robert Howard, sr., occurred on Sunday evening, February 9th at his home on the 10th concessipn, Ashfield Township. The sympathy of the community is extended to Mrs. Howard and family. The funeral will.. 'take place on ' Wednesday morning "at St. Joseph's Church, weather' and'roads permitting. Mr. Peter Lierman, of London, spent the week -end at his home here.
