I eFEBURiN, Feb. 2.—Mrs. Ter-
ence Hunter was hostess when the
Leeburn W.MjS. met for their Jan-
uary meeting. :Mrs. Elmer Hunter
was lead,er of the worship service.
Mrs. Andrew Bogie read the Scrip-
ture. Two new members were
welcomed. Encouraging reports
were given by the treasurer, secre-
tary, stranger's secretary and the
supply secretary. Another get-
well card was signed by the ladies
present for Miss Clark and one for
Miss Grace -Hunter. Mrs. McBride
reported having a quilt top almost
ready to quilt. Mrs. Andrew Bogie
and Mrs. Norman Hoy, were ap-
pointed auditors for this year.
The chapter from the study book
was read by Mrs. J. Horton. The

Christmas 'letter, written by Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Rashleigh, of
Ethiopia, was read by Mrs. A.
Bogie. The closing prayer was
given by Mrs. Joe Freeman. Mrs.
Elmer Hunter assisted the hostess
during the social period. The
February meeting_ will be held at
the home of Mrs. Andrew Bogie on
the regular day when, the World
Day of Prayer program. will be
observed.

visiting this week -in -Toronto with-
IVir, and Mrs. Bert Lakeman and
other relatives.

On Saturday evening, February 1,
Mr. and Mrs. W. Arthur Culbert,
'Maple Emblem Farms, were hon-
ored at a surprise party with the
home -coming of their family to
celebrate their 47th wedding an-
niversary. Mr. Culbert is a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abram
Culbert and his wife was the form-
er Nettie Tyndal, daughter of the
latetMr. and Mrs. William Tyndal,
Carlow. The family were all pre-
sent, being Mr. and Mrs. Cecil CUl-
be.rt,Jimmy, Augusta, -Charles and
Cathy, Ashfield; Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Crawford, Kenneth, Lois,
.Billy and Bobby, Wingham; Mr.
and Mrs. Earl Sherwood, Neta and
Ernest, Carlow; Mr. and , 'Mrs.
Howard Culbert, Donny, Jackie
and Barbara Ann, and their_ sort,
Bill, Ashfield. A very pleasant
time was spent with music and
games with Leis Crawford and
Neta Sherwood entertaining the
young folks in the dining room:
A reading lamp was presented to
them from the family.. At the
close of the evening a dainty lunch
was served including an anniver-
sary cake. Another special feature
was the card with all the names
inscribed. We wish Mr. and Mrs.
1 Culbert many more happy anni-
versaries and reunions with their
family. ,
Mrs._ Henry Horton, of Lucknow,
spent the week -end , with ' her
daughter, Mrs. Orland Bere, Mr.
Bere and family.
Miss Flora Durnin, home econ-
omist, Markdale, spent the week-
end at home with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. R, J. Durnin. , We are
glad to know Mrs. Durni ''i'. much
improved in health. Also siting
the Durnins on Sunday, were Mr.
and Mrs. Horton Talmay, of Gode-
rich.
Teen -Town Enjoyed.—Teen-Town
was a new venture carried out by
the Dungannon Y.P.U. at the
Parish -Hall on Saturday night.
Nile, Donnybrook. and Auburn
Y:PJU.'s also attended. Record
playing and dancing was enjoyed.
Wayne Willis, of Goderich, and
Art Freeman and Ross Rivett sup-
plied vocal numbers with guitar
accompaniment. Pop and dough-,
nuts were on sale. Lorne Alton
and partner started -activities with
a snowball dance. Delmer-

Knox 'Presbyterian chapel was
the scene of a pretty winter wed-
ding on Saturday - last at 12.30
when Rev. R. G. MacMillan united
in marriage Donald Edward Elliott
and Maureen Margaret Hallam.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Elliott and the- bride is
a daughter of Mr. and Mrs'. John
Hallam, all of Goderich. Mr. W.
H. Bishop. �proVided appropriate

The bride, `given in marriage
her father, wore_ _a-.-white-cnc-ktail-
Iength dress of nylon chiffon over
taffeta with a chantilly lace bodice
and ' soft pleated skirt with ap-
pliqued lace flowerlets. A head-
dress of matching lace held her
elbow -length veil in place. She
carried a bouquet of pink roses.
Her sister, Miss Donna Hallam,
was , maid of honor, wearing a
princess style dress of pink bro-
caded taffeta with bouffant skirt
and a matching head bandeau. She
carried a bouquet of blue carna-
tions.
Mr.Clayton Larder was grooms-
man, and Stuart Hallam; brother
of the bride,, was usher.
After the ceremony, a reception
was held at the bride's home where
her mother received the guests.
She wore a dress of brown crepe
and green accessories.
Later, the couple left on a wed-
ding trip to =Niagara Falls. On
their return, they will reside in
London. t For travelling, the bride
wore a grey sheath dress with pink
cowl collar and silver accessories.
She wore a corsage of pink roses.
Guests were --present from El-
liott Lake, Hamilton, Kitchener
and Fort Erie.

PORT ALBERT, Feb. 3. - The
sympathy of the community goes
out to Mrs_ William Tigert,- on --the
death of her mother, Mrs. Kauf-
man, ori January 29, in Kincardine.
Mrs. Tigert's brother, Lloyd Kauf-
man, flew from Dawson City,
Yukon,.,;to attend his mother's fun-
eral on Friday, and remained with'
Mr: and Mrs: Tigert over the. week-
end.
The Young People's Society of
Christ's Anglican Church held a
successful euchre party in the
church basement on Tuesday even-
ing. High prizes went to Mrs.
Elwyn Petrie and Mr. Walter
Tigert.: Low prizes went to Mrs:
Gordon Martin and Lorne Graham.
On February 11, there will be
another progressive euchre party
held in the church basement.

Saturday was Mr. and Mrs. Petrie's
wedding anniversary. -
Mr. and Mrs, Jack Wenzel, of
Buffalo, spent the week -end with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin
Hodges.

with Mr. arid Mrs. Charles -Crossett
