CUTT S VICTORIA STREET GODERICH tau M arge-Array Of Christmas Gifts At North St. Bazaar Lollipop ladies, wearing large red hats and carrying miniature Christmas presents, on the individ- ual tea tables at North Street 'Unit- ed Church Woman's Asssociation annual bazaar on Saturday', accent- ed the spirit of Christmas gift buy- ing. The entire inviting layout was exceptionally well patronized with over $1,650 being realized from the sale of handwork- made throughout the year by the various groups. In the absence of the president, Mrs. J. H. Kinkead, the guests were received by the first vice-president, Mrs. W. J. Moorhead, and the min- ister'a3 wife, Mrs. A. E. Eustace. Christmas .flowers, made by the Gift Craft group, were prevalent throughout the lower auditorium of the church. These included a red poinsetta wreath on each pil- lar, red carnation and pine table centre on the maim tea table, and red, coral and white potted geran- iums. Baskets of pine, . tied with large red satin bows, were placed throughout the room. The Gift Craft group, under the leadership of Mrs. Len Westbrook and Miss Florence Paterson, dis- played their handcrafts in the chinch psrlor. These included cleverly made artificial flowers, table centrepieces, pin cushions, candy Christmas trees, tallies, pine and tones, which were sold by Mrs. A. Waters, Mrs. H. Bettger, Mrs. G. Parsons, ' Mrs. E. Stiles, Miss Mary Buchanan and Miss Frances Armstrong. Mrs. Frank Walkom and Mrs. W. H. Moorhead convened the work of the miscellaneous group, which included pillowcases, tea towels, duster mitts, luncheon sets, and hand crochet. Assisting with, the selling of this well -displayed work were Mrs. J. Moody, Mrs. A. Holmes, Mrs. H. Talmay, Mrs. F. Kershaw, Mrs. T. • Taylor, Mrs. F. Hawkins] and Miss Grace Robert- son. A profusion of knitted wear in- cluding mitts, gloves, socks and baby's wear, and hand made pajam- as, pajama bags, blouses, skirts, dresses and toys for children were displayed by members of the Child- ren's Wear and Knitting group. Mrs. C. Worsell and Mrs. Harold Young convened this roup and were assisted in selling the articles .by Mrs. H. Worsen, Mrs. W. Kings- well, Mrs. B. .Bradford, Mrs. E. Rawson, Mrs. S. Youngblut, Mrs. J. Moss, Mrs. W. HousU n and Mrs.' G. W. Thornes. Mrs. Tom McLean, Mrs. E. West- brook and Mrs. J. McLeod, Apron group leaders, and Mrs. J. Sher- wood and Mrs. R. W. Neville sold the multitude of aprons made by this-group:'4, There were aprons of every size, color and design, in- cluding children's aprons, practical aprons, and dainty, dressy aprons. They also featured beautifully made Christmas aprons which were readily sold for Christmas gifts. The ever -popular bake table groaned under the huge assort- ment of home-made delicacies. There was everything from mint jelly to Swedish tea rings including jams, jellies, mincement, Christ - !rias cakes and puddings, pies, tang and cakes of every size and descrip- tion, rolls, breads, tea biscuits and other specialties of the individual cooks. This table was in charge of Mrs. J. Cook and Vis. R. Wilson, with Mrs. C. Wilson, Mrs. C. Moore, Mrs. J. Moore and Mrs. B. Feagan assisting in serving the rush di customers. The candy table with its abund- ance of confections and candy novelties, was convened by Mrs. F. Overholt and Mrs. A. Hamilton. Mrs: George Paterson, Mrs. Carl Worsen, sr:, Mrs. II. Turner and Mrs. G. Ellis poured tea through- out the afternoon from a prettily appointed tea table covered with a White cloth and centred with the silver bowl of red carnations and pine, flanked by silver candelabra with lighted red tapers. Mrs, R. W. Hughes, Mrs. G. Ellis and Mrs. R. Brewer convened the tea. Serving the many guests in the tea room were Mrs. R. Sparling, Mrs. A. Boutilier, Mrs. K. Hopkin- son, Mrs. J. Westbrook, Mrs. R. Smith, Mrs. G. Brown, Mrs. J. E. Wright, Mrs. B. Ross, Mrs. D. D. Mooney, Mrs J. Britnell, Mrs. Bud Mathieson, Mrs. J. Corey, Mrs. G. A. Kerr -Wilson, Miss Esther Hume and Miss Dorothy Westbrook. Mrs. A. L. Cole, Mrs. F. Hibbert, Mrs. H. Barker arid Mrs•_ N. Miller look- ed after the tea table supplies - Mrs. ' L. Westbrook and Mrs. C. Adams received the tea money. Mills Motor Sales, Goderich, was in Toronto last week to attend a two-day meeting of the Chryaler Corporation regional dealers ad- visory council. Mr. Mills attended the 'co'nfer- ence as the representative of Chrysler Corporation dealers in the Counties of Huron, Perth, `Bruce, Grey, Simcoe, Dufferin, Wellington and Lambton. Dealers in these counties elected him as their choice to represent them at the meeting. • Other regional dealers advisory council meetings are being held in Montreal, Moncton, N.B., Vancou- ver, B.C., Red Deer, Alta., and Regina; Sask. Out of the regional meetings will come material for discussion• between the dealer re- presentatives and company officials at the national dealers advisory council meeting in Windsor next January.
