monthly meeting of the • Woman's
Association of Knox United Church
was held in the Sabbath school
room of the church Tuelsday= even.

meeting was in the form of. a Hal-
lowe'en party with everyone in
masquerade costumes. The pro -
grave got under way with a guess-
ing contest to identify who the
costumed people were. This was
followed by-''ouup contests with
prizes going to Miss Sadie Carter
and Mrs. R. Koopmans. Mrs. Fred
Toll led the devotional period with
Mrs. Norm=an Wightman presiding
at the piano. The Su ipture was
read by. M 's..Hiltz and .Mrs. Earl
Wightman led in meditation and
prayer. F1'he offering was received
by (Mrs., :Charles Million and Mrs.
Stewart Ament. Mrs. Fred Toll
gave a reading, "Ghost Time." Mrs.
Ma(trice Bean, 'president, took
charge of the business period.
Luny was served by the Loyal
Heart Group and a social hour was
enjoyed.
The annual meeting of the Bap-
tist congregation was held last
Friday evening with the usual pot
luck dimer. The business°- meet-
ing was conducted by the pastor,
Jahn Aqulian. All the reports
given were very gratifying and the
members were all thankful for the
blessings given them through the
past year.

a lot of friends call to offer their

The Pipe Band, accompanied by
majorettes, led a colorful parade
both on Friday and Saturday to
mark the event. Mayor J. H. Gra-
ham made the draw for prizes
whieh resulted as follows. 1. R. H.
Rutledge, Napier street (Westclock
radio); 2. Earl Nivins, Piston street
(car robe); 3. Glen Nelson, Gode-
rich (set of screw drivers). There
were five, prizes of a free change
of oil won by each of the following.
