Teller Of Tale
Lodged In Jail
A Stratford youth, who told
police he was held -up by two men
who later tried to drown him, was
charged with pub is mischief and
lodged in Huron County Jail at
Goderich last week -end.
Police found no foundation for
the, story told by Glen Folden, 19.
Provincial Constable H. C. Reid, of
Exeter, said the youth apparently
tried to drown himself off the
beach at St. Joseph.
He had waded into the water
fully dressed, then changed his
mind, as far as police could learn.
When found on the beach by a
woman, he gave the explanation
that he had been held at gunpeint
by two men and " forced to drive
from Stratford to the beach. There,
they tried to drown him, he
claimed.
