most delightful shows to come be-
fore a Goderich audience this sea-

the Goderich Collegiate auditorium

The colorful "can can," "polka,"
Moe ,wa'ltz" and old tfashioned
"French minuet," all in full cos -
P line, were a joy tobehold. Egyp-
teen, gypsy, and acrobatic dances
brought a round of applause, as
4.I.id the girls' excellent bar work.
High praise of their performance
must also go to Allan Reid for his
bnzlo, and Edward (3uriy appearing
with Allan; in a duo tap.

her junior audience, as was shown,

did "The White Rabbit." Stage
management and lighting were in
the able hands of Harry lard,
assisted by Don Stewart and Tim
Sale.
The 'final number on the Drogrann
was a Hungarian National Dance in
which Madam. de 'At urthy proved
her feet to the as young es her
beat. Bouquets were presented
each little' girl, yellow roses to
Madam de IKurthy, at the end of
the recital. It was most apropo;
they deserve bcyuqquets. -

Man Takes Purse
At Farm Home
Police are seeking, a man who
took a purse belonging to Mrs.
Harvey Fuller, who lives alongside
highway 21, five miles south of
Godeeich. She was in the garden
Tuesday afternoon when the theft
occurred.
She saw the man leave the house,
get into a car and drive south, she
told police. There was nothing of
much value in the purse, fortun-
ately. Sergeant C. N. Anderson,
orf Goderich, states that there have
been complaints of similar incid-
ents in the area farther south.

June meeting of the W.M.S. of
ltolmesville United Church was
held in the Sunday` School rooms.
Mrs. N. Heard's group was in
charge of the program, and Mrs.
R. Miller was in the chair. Mrs.
Miller opened the meeting. Mrs.
W. Biggin read the Scripture les
son and Mrs. Miller gave the medi-
tation. Mee N. Heard led in pray
er. The president, Mrs. L. Jervis,
conducted the business. Mrs. N.
Heard gage. a reading. Mrs. I1.
Wilson retorted on' ,Christian
citizenship and Mrs: W. Lobb on
Christian stewardship. The E. Yeo
reviewed the ,study book chapter
on Formosa. The meeting closed
with prayer by Mrs. :Willer,
The W.A. meeting followed, with
the president, Mrs. S. Farquhar,
reading the Scripture lesson and
givieg the comments on it. Mrs.
E. Grigg gave the treasurer's re-
port. Mrs. F. McCullough report-
ed on the afternoon session of the
W.A. Presbytery meeting: Mrs.
Farquhar closed the meeting with
prayer. Mrs. H. C. Wilson was
asked to come forward. Mrs. L.
Bond read the address, and on
behalf of the WM.S. and W.A.,
Mrs. L. Jervis :presented Mrs. Wil-
son with a parting gift. Mrs.
Wilson thanked the ladies, and
lunch was served by the hostesses,
Mrs. W. Biggin, Mrs. R. +Miller and
Mrs. E. Yeo.

in Clinton Public Hospital.

OBITUARY
L. KEITH COMMA
A former resident of Goderich
and a resident of Stratford for the
past 30 years, L. Keith Comba
died suddenly at his home on
Sunday morning in. his 58th year.
He is survived by his parents,
his wife, the former Mable Spencer,
and a brother and sister.
Mr. Com1,17 a linotype oper-
ator and was employed at The
Signal Printing Office, leaving
there in 1927 to join the staff of
the Beaton Herald. The funeral
was on Tuesday afternoon with
interment in Avondale cemetery,
Stratford.
MRS. MARY ANN FISHER
After being a patient in Alex-
andra Hospital for the past eight
months, Mrs. Mary,Ann Fisher died
do Tuesday, June 18,
She was born in Colborne Town-
ship in 1866, a daughter of the
late Pollie Pannabaker and Stephen
llutt. After her imarriage to Wil-
liam Fisher in 1890 she lived at
Winnipeg, returning to Goderich
in 1907 where she has continued
to reside.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of
Victoria Street United Church and
in her younger days belonged to
several of the women's organiz-
ations, she 'was a member also of
the Octogenarian Club.
Surviving her are three nephews,
William Maw, Ernest Fisher, Elgin
Fisher and one niece,' Mrs. Wm.
Johns -ton (Audrey Fisher), all of
Goderich. Her husband predeceas-
ed her some years ago.
The funeral service was held
this afternoon (Thursday) at -Stiles -
Amaral home, with Rev. ,,.,S. A.
Moote, officiating. Burial was in
Colborne cemetery. The paIlbear-
ers were Wm. Johnston, Elgin
Fisher, Ernest Fisher, Richard
Lanxon, Thos. McMichael and Ed.
Gower.
Mrs. Herbert IMilbury, her daugh-
ter, Joyce. and granddaughter,
Geraldine Luanne, of Middleton,
N.S., and Ralph Fredericks, of
Bridgetown, N.S., visited at the
home of M.r. and Mrs. Percy Barker
and Ernie last week. Mrs. Milbury
is an ,active member of the Shut-
In's Day Association in Nova Scotia
Hemlock City Wins Cup
At Ashfield Area Picnic
A variety of races and other
events, including hag calling and
chicken calling contests, featured
the Ashfield Township Area pic-
nic which was held at the Kintail
Presbyterian Camp.
During the afternoon four teams
played for the cup. Hemlock City
defeated SS 9, while Port Albert
ousted Dungannon. In the final
after supper, Hemlock City emerg-
ed victorious.
